when I bought my duster the AC wasn't working
I build the 360 with a compressor but never got round to hooking it up and fixing all that is related to the AC
so now I'm thinking, I can use the airflow going to the radiator that is being blocked by the condenser

before I get too far into it, does anyone have any tips on how to go about this, and an idea what timeframe I should set aside for it?

thanks guys

I don't get your question. It pretty much unbolts. Or are you worried about refrigerant?

No, no worries about refrigerant, the lines have been disconnected and empty for ever

Just wondering what all I need to remove and how long it should take

The hood latch and bracket needs to come loose and you may have to loosen the grill.

It shouldn't be to big an issue. It can get a little tight on the bottom bolts. Getting the lines loose without twisting the condenser is also fun. You must use a backup wrench.

I just did same thing on Dads 67. Removed rad and fan. Unbolted condenser and it fit thru rad cradle hole into the engine bay.
1 hr tops. More for piss breaks if you shotgun beers

i tried that, several times
ended up taking a sawzall to one of the lines

ill head out there today and see if i can do it from the front, without removing the radiator
(which is full of coolant)

You may be able to loosen the radiator bolts & tilt it toward the engine. It worked on my Demon when installing a condenser...

apply some heat to the nuts on the a/c lines and condenser to help break the free... Propane and propane accessories...

does the condenser bolt in from the front, or the back?
I mean, do I need to remove the radiator to get at the bolts, or just to get it out?

The bolts come from the back... There are scallops in the radiator mounting brackets for the clearance to get to the bolts from the radiator side...

There are clip on u-nuts that slide on the mounting tabs for the condenser and they are mounted in front of the radiator support, and the bolts come from the back of the radiator support from the radiator side...

Once it's loose, see what you have to do to get it out...

Our grille is out right now, so I can't tell if you need to remove the grille to get the condenser out...

Give me a few minutes and I can post some pictures for you...

Here's some front and rear shots of the condenser out of the car showing the mounting points. See the square mounting feet and how the metal slip nut goes on them... They are closer together on one side than the other...

Here are shots of the 71 valiant that we took it out of. Notice how you can see the witness marks from the square feet from the front looking from the grille side... Then I show the back side from the radiator side to see where the bolts go in the sheet metal...

thanks
that helped a lot
(hard to see what I'm doing with the front end completely assembled and the engine installed)

I swear, the hardest part was getting the fanclutch mounted up to the waterpump again

but, she is out

I took mine out of the bottom, fan and radiator still attached. It took some wiggling and a lil prying for space, though.

there was a support on the bottom I couldn't tell how to remove so I wiggled it our behind the radiator

one hour was plenty of time in deed, and that included stopping to give both kids a bath
(I'm sure it would have taken longer if I could have gotten their mom in the tub with me, but this is a family forum, so I wont mention that)

Glad you got it done...

My power went out right after my last post here and just came back on...

was that your post I read about someone not having power for 5 days ?

I always intended to have the AC fixed but I'm starting to get realistic, it aint happening any time soon
then when I started plotting my cold air intake I noticed the lines were in the way, so I decided to rip the whole thing out
