I also posted in the suspension forum yesterday and I have photos there as well.
I am looking to put a PS box on my 65 Dart. I have two pump styles and the box as well as pulleys that are needed. My problem is figuring out the brackets. I have a load of different brackets however I have nothing to go by in order to set the system up correctly. I have looked all over for photos and other information but have not found anything with enough detail. I have a FSM for the dart as well as for a 70 challenger but these do not show the brackets either.
Anyone with some good photos or diagrams??
Many thanks.

Big block or small block? Lets take this one step at a time

Can you post pictures of the brackets and pumps you have? Do you know what engines they came off of? If you're putting them on a Slant, they cannot use the V8 brackets.

Here is a pic of my slant 6 65/66 PS pump and brackets. This pump was used with AC which is why the pulley is offset. I can take a picture of a PS pump used w/o AC but it has no brackets.

3 p.s. pumps were used. TRW, then Federal, then Saginaw, w/ some overlap. All use different brackets, plus different for slant, SB, & BB. You have a Saginaw (oblong neck). the other could be TRW or Federal. TRW has 2 bolts on the rear. Saginaw is best. All use different hose fittings, as do the gears.

Well I know I have an "early" saginaw pump and a Federal pump plus I think I have a TRW pump as well.
Do they all mount to the block in the same location?
I am surprised I can't find any good photos of a slant six with PS on the internet. There are plenty of photos BUT there are none with clear/detailed images??
Oh well, I'll keep looking. Without anything to go on I am not about to just dive in a make a braket work even IF I could.
Thanks

I think all A-body slant power steering pump brackets used the 3 tapped holes on the block driver's side just above the oil pan. Some Aspen/Volare slants mounted the p.s. pump (Saginaw) to an AC bracket for a Sanden compressor. Posts w/ photos in slant forum (I have one). An idea if you want AC and don't have a compressor, or want to lose the massive RV2 beast. That bracket does get close to the battery in an early A, but note that batteries are getting smaller so you might use a thin one for some recent cars.

The bracket in post 4 looks familiar from when I had a 69 Dart slant. My original p.s. bracket cracked around the 3 mounting holes, making the pump shake. I got another bracket from a later A-body slant at the junkyard (~1972). It fit my pump, which might have been a Federal, but was a slightly different design. Perhaps better since it never cracked for 15 yrs until the car was stolen. I don't remember which one looked like the photo.

In my 1964 Valiant slant, I eliminated the option of a factory p.s. bracket since I made a custom bracket to mount a Sanden AC compressor on that 3-bolt pad. If I ever desire p.s., I will probably change to those Volare brackets, and we should have mini-batteries by then.
