How Do I Adjust A Subwoofer For Best Sound?

The head unit has 2 RCA outputs as does the sub and the small Kicker amp. I'll have to add a low level adapter to the front side of the head unit to add that amp. If you think the amp will power the front speakers better than the head unit, then it might be worth doing. Thanks for all the advice.

    Advance springs

I knew an old guy when I was a kid who owned a local carburetor and distributor shop. He had ALL kinds of now defunct and impossible to find tools. He had a tool for those clips. It looked similar to a pair of needle nose pliers, but had very small, blunt ends with a hole drilled in each end. It...

340 Oil Priming Question First Start

Yes sir. A lot of solid lifters have the wire retainer or snap ring. Those are higher end oil metering solid lifters. So be careful when you're verifying.

    383 Piston slap

I think it's fine. Some of these guys don't understand that there are many, MANY types of pistons. Most all modern pistons are what's called "cam ground" pistons. They are not round at room temperature. They are oval. Once up to operating temperature, they expand and "get round" and all the...

How Do I Adjust A Subwoofer For Best Sound?

The more I drive the truck and listen to it....although it sounds a LOT better than those two 6 x 9s in the those tiny boxes, I'm thinking the front speakers are over powered by the subwoofer.

340 Oil Priming Question First Start

@Dicer nailed it about the oil flow out of the top holes on the rockers. You will get very little. Just enough to drool down the rocker and lube the valve stems and rocker pads. On the rocker shaft installation. Here's how they install. Passenger's side, the notch in the end goes to the REAR...

Source for rocker shaft end seals/freeze plugs

Never seen an "end seal". All I've ever seen were pressed in plugs. Just get the appropriate size freeze plug, put the sealant of your choice on it and hammer it home.

    Distributor Rebuild Question

Just because "you've seen this" or "you've heard that" doesn't make it right. I'm not being a nitpicker. It's important to get terminology correct, especially when you're asking for help. The piece is called the distributor points cam. The entire piece with the slots in it is the distributor...
