Yes you do. I think it has a sprang in it. Reverse would be a no no

Who's running the same size tires front and rear

On my ‘79 Magnum I run the same size tire on all 4 plus the spare. It makes life easier on me on the car trips should stuff happen. It makes sense. Other cars of mine have the off set. Street machines that don’t go far. The spare is the same size as the front since driving with two different...

Did the 1979 Lil Red Express come with an air pump?

that's red flags, flashing lights and sirens. find another shop. i'd go find some GM G body guys that have LS swaps or the 70's tail dragger/donk/low rider dudes and ask them where they get their smog at, chances are whoever is doing that is a little more knowledgeable and operates a little...

340 six pack carbs will this work? 440/340 combo

Read below. No, you read into what he said and didn’t pay attention to what he said. The metering plates, those plates are inside the carb bowl, they meter the gasoline instead of jets, are different. The best way around this is to get the ProMax or Quick Fuel metering jet plates that replace...

    Not a new best, but….

Previous best was 6.602 DA was 1480 feet Just ran 6.63 at over 3200 DA on shot tires, soft 60 for this car. Think this carb likely picked it up 3 or 4 numbers in the 1/8

    Front/rear suspension options?

if you can get the slant K with the carcass that's a score for sure, bars are a double plus. if they aren't slant bars (lighter weight) i'm sure somebody will trade theirs for some V8 bars, or you can scoop slant bars pretty cheap. if they have the K, they might have some other bits and bobs...

    Not a new best, but…..

In same air I set the best in last year(6.602) I would have picked up 3 maybe 4 numbers in the 1/8. Previous was in 1500 DA, first pass of year, this one, was over 3200 DA Soft 60 ft too. These tires are on their last event. Car has been 1.41. Anyhow, think the new carb picked it up some...

Rear Drums Only Free in Reverse Direction?

Recently rebuilt my rear drum brakes. Everything seemed fine HOWEVER when I tighten up my wheels lug nuts my wheels will not move in the forward direction. They do move in the reverse direction. Again ONLY when the wheels/drum get tightened down. Something must be binding in compression. Any...

Who's running the same size tires front and rear

What car? Does it matter if the spare fits in the spare tire well? If you go staggered I would want the spare the same size as the front. I personally would rather have the one size smaller tire (if you only go one size difference) on the rear if it went flat instead of a wider spare and having...
