Massive caster variance Side to side

This is where there is difficulty in understanding the difference. This gauge: Does not stay in place the entire time. It can be removed and reattached. This gauge is used in a different manner than what is used on an alignment rack. Think of it this way: Turn the steering wheel 20 degrees to...

adapt and overcome...use spacer/adapters. I think it was SuperModified that recommended using Chevy intakes on SBM at the time.

Saving another one - '62 Valiant

I wish you better luck than I've had. Saved this Signet 2dr Hdtp a few years back and have not been able to sell it for $3K less my wheels. I don't feel to bad, I've put 80K miles on it so far. Has rust up high in body but pans and rails are excellent. Never seen a car rusted like this one in...

    BBP conversion

I think if I can source the right OEM components, I'll go that route, depending on shipping needs. I might call a couple aftermarket mfgs and see what they say, as well.

Throwing my hat into the ring.

Love it, enjoy the journey. I'm starting one in much worse shape because I need something to keep me occupied as well as for the the nostalgia - same as my first car the family gave me. Would jump on one of those early Barracudas if the right deal came along. Also in San Antonio so hope to...

    18" Wheel help

looks great, I like the deeper dish, but that doesn't allow tire rotation front to rear...a 3" wider rear end would take care of that....XJ 8 1/4" rears are 3" wider....

Does this prove David Vizard's 128 lsa formula ?

No that would be his recommended lsa, for street and or race. Say you like comps xe256h cam on 110 for your engine, to DV that choice basically you'd keep the same basic overlap and cut the cam on 105 lsa with that overlap and that would give you your new duration, probably something like a 250...

Steve magnante's 1962 dodge dart police car

It looks the same as the one in post #26,28 and 29. Post #10 was the old one. Post #19 is the change. #26 is the new and current one that you re posted. Good bump. but not new. Just being clear. Don't want it to sound like Steve is putting up new GFM all the time. make sense?

Does this prove David Vizard's 128 lsa formula ?

Ah, I see now. Thank you. I did some math for a low compression 8.6: 1 or so 318 with stock 1.78in valves and would need an LSA of 105 degrees. I'm assuming this is for a ballpark max performance cam and not a normal street use engine that needs high vacuum, or at least for some cases.

Cost for labor on stroker build?

x2 on this. I had a bad knock that took some investigation. At first I thought it was piston slap… so then I thought about building a bore and stroke motor. But it ended up being loose flex plate bolts. Nonetheless the block is still very healthy, i wouldn’t bore it out unless I had to. I...

    Intermediate Shaft Wear

I just called them again and they said I could run a brass or steel gear. He said the brass gear shaft is "sacrificial". My issue is now do I have shavings in my engine? I hate to tear things down to find out I did not need to, only change out the gear. Ugh. I talked to 440 Source about the...

Cost for labor on stroker build?

I plan on porting my J heads (or just invest in aluminum heads and get those ported), hydraulic roller, and some bolt ons. Going to a machine shop today to gauge how much they would charge here in NY.

If only this type of kit were available for SBM at the same price......

I'm not a closet chevy lover. I know there are several centrifugal supercharger kits for us. But I am amazed the at the low price of this kit for the 350 Chevy- and from Edelbrock. SBC has always had this advantage. Dick Landy offered a similar kit in the 80s and now just the intake manifold he...
