[FOR SALE] 1965 Plymouth Valiant Signet Convertible 273

Up for sale is a beautiful 1965 Valiant Signet V8 convertible with Barracuda grill (similar to the rare Acapulco trim model, but I can't say for certain if it's an actual Acapulco.) Originally a California car, this Valiant has spent its entire life in the southwest and is virtually rust-free...

What is This Part and Why is it Leaking Oil?

Thanks, all. I will keep an eye on it. I did notice that the oil pressure sender was leaking, so I replaced it earlier today. We'll see if the leak dries up now.

What is This Part and Why is it Leaking Oil?

1965 Valiant 273. Yes, that was a very "newbie" question, but I'm learning about cars as I go. So: This thing on the passenger side is leaking oil. What is it? From there, I'll be able to try and find ways to fix the problem. As always, thank you for the help!

Instrument Cluster Light Issue - Speedometer & Signal

OK, thanks. I will look into it this coming weekend, if not sooner. Yes, both rear sides work. No, just one light for speedo. I'm almost positive this light worked when I first got the car. Single board. Is there a way to test these lights with the cluster removed?

Electrical Short - What Just Happened?!

Definitely. I had to go look for pictures of temporary terminals to see if I had them. Of course, I found 800 different options, and got more confused. Stupid internet.

Electrical Short - What Just Happened?!

Following up with some good news. I've been driving the car for the last week without any troubles, and wanted to give it some time before I reported back. Here's what I ended up testing & doing based on 67dart273's advice upthread: Battery off: 12.X Starter relay: 12.X Starter: 12.X Yet...

Electrical Short - What Just Happened?!

Well, I spoke too soon. Problem not solved. I went out to start the car this morning, gave one turn of the key, and all electrical was dead again. So, I'm going to try a new battery first, and if that doesn't help, I will investigate the other suggestions in this thread.

Electrical Short - What Just Happened?!

Thanks for the pointers, guys. Given all the prompts about the battery, I went out this morning and checked the connections. They appeared to be pretty solid, but everything was still dead. No lights, no anything. Still, I pulled the negative, reset it, and locked it down tightly. Problem...

Electrical Short - What Just Happened?!

Quick background info: 65 Valiant convertible 273. 6 weeks ago, I added a ready-to-run distributor, e-coil, electronic choke, Standard VR128 voltage regulator, and bypassed the ballast resistor. Also replaced all of the instrument cluster bulbs and cleaned contact points on the circuit...

65 Valiant: Top Weatherstrip Channel Repro?

Does anyone make reproductions of the convertible top's weatherstrip channels? I'm missing the passenger side's rearmost channel. I've checked the obvious sources (Layson's, Classic, etc.) but no luck. Thanks!

65 Valiant: Header Weatherstrip Installation Question

Just got Metro's weatherstripping for my convertible: HD-4500A header seal, and the 6-piece top rail kit. Can anyone share a photo or two of how the header seal is installed on your top? I'm a little uncertain about the best way to attach it, and pictures are always helpful. (Also, I...

Greetings from New 65 Valiant Convertible Owner

I was told that Plymouth made a variant of the Valiant for the Mexico market called the Acapulco, and the Barracuda grill was one of the minor things that set it apart. While I have no way of verifying this, the story goes that some California dealer bought a dozen of them in '65, and this is...

Greetings from New 65 Valiant Convertible Owner

Thanks for the warm welcome, all! Here's another pic with the top up. The car's in great shape mechanically, and I've spent some time over the last year putting in A/C (vintage air), disc brakes, etc. Next step is some interior rehab.
