    68 Charger RT

I went to look at a 68 Charger yesterday. A nice looking 15 footer with a built 440 chassis dyno at 525 rwhp and a race built 727 with reversed valve body. Car was built for the strip but has been converted for street with full interior and not been raced in 15 years. There were bubbles under...

    Hot steering column

went to the not so local ice cream joint for a cheese burger and fries tonight. About a 30 minute drive there and 40 on the return trip. When I backed into the garage and shut down I noticed the steering column was hot. Not smoking hot but hot enough to get my attention, around 110 to 120. I...

    Is judging worth the outcome

I am planning on a MOPAR show this June and there is a small fee if I want my car to be judged. I was told the car was original with the exception of radio and 2 stage paint when I bought it. I don't have any great expectations of awards or any acknowledgement but I would like to know how...

    digital meter

I tried this thread on the Corvette forum but no one wanted to answer. If you read further on you will see it works well on my 70 Swinger 340. Maybe the Mopar guys are smarter or less stuck up than the Vette boys. My actron digital meter will not read RPM on my 75 Vette with HEI distributor, it...

    Mid Summer's Night Dream

Ya'll in the South might be planning your next A Body ride in the country but today I'm waiting for the wind to die down so I can snow blow the drive again. 8 days in a row clearing the drive and sidewalk. Hopefully the temp will get above 15* today and the state plow won't have buried the end...

    New vanity plates

I wondered why my Son wanted pictures of my classic's a month ago. Since he is a graphic artist at a tee/novelty store I was guessing tee for sure. When I saw these plates I was very impressed with the layout and clarity. My question to you guys is, would you display them on dash or mount them...

    4933S tuning kit

My 70, 340 is .020 over but otherwise a stock engine. I have rebuilt the original 4933S Carter but feel a good tune would benefit the performance. I am having a hard time finding a tuning kit with the 3 step metering rods and would like to keep the domed caps for originality. Does anyone have a...

    Original Carter

I am reconditioning my 1970 AVS 4933S to original specs. Can anyone tell me what size jets and primary metering rods should be in the carb. I currently have my 750 Qjet on the Swinger 340 and it is running real strong with good idle characteristics and crisp off idle response. My goal is to use...

    need new clutch

Anyone using a Brute Power clutch in their 340 cars? I see they are made by Borg Warner. The BW 4 speed in my 75 Vette is a great piece of machinery. Are their clutch kits just as good? Thanks. Jerry

    8 3/4 dif

I'm in the process of changing all the fluids in my newly acquired 70 Swinger 340. Is the preferred method for the differential to suction the fluid out or to break the seal between center section and housing. If there is a drain plug somewhere I need new glasses. Thanks, Jerry

    Carb adapter

I have a 750 cfm spread bore carb from an 87 Dodge pick up. I rebuilt this carb last year and used it on my Corvette while I reconditioned the original carb. This carb performed real well on my 350/300 sbc for the 2 months it was on the Vette. Has anyone used an adapter to use a spread bore on...

    Exhaust tips

the chrome tips on my 70 seem to be sticking out too far. The hanger seems to be in the right place and the tips are as far as they can go on the pipes. I have looked at many pics on the interweb but most rear pics have different tips or are not clear enough. I have faith that someone here can help.

    Day 1

Just got home with my 1970 Dart 340 4 speed. A beautiful older restoration with original numbers matching drive line and interior. Fresh paint (20 years ago) in the original EB5 Bright Blue Metallic. Now a little about me. I am an older, sometimes gentleman and have been retired for 3 years. My...
