What is this front end metal piece above bumper called? '72 Scamp

Today I started putting the front end together on my '72 Scamp. There is a piece of metal that goes under the grille and above the bumper. I found one in the shop that I'm 99% sure if for this car, however it is bent all to hell. What's the name of this piece so I can start shopping around for a...

'72 Scamp front turn signal wire connectors are different. Need help

Today I started piecing together the front end on my 72 Scamp. When I tried to hook up the front turn signal lights I noticed a problem. The first is on the car side I could only find 1 factory plug that I am assuming is for the signals, and it's on the drivers side, I couldn't find any...

Is this a bumper for a 1972 Scamp? If so I need some bracket to mount it.

I hope none of you guys are getting tired of my newbie questions about this car, like my post asking about a front end. However today I was rummaging around some more in my Grandpas shop and I happen to found a brand new bumper in the box. I am 99.9% sure this is the bumper I need for my '72...

'72 Scamp Can I just fix the front brakes to get it home?

It's all good, I wasn't offended at all. I should of been more clear on my OP, but that's why I'm here, to ask questions and learn as much as I can about this car.

'72 Scamp Can I just fix the front brakes to get it home?

Thanks for all the replies. I never intended to drive an unsafe car on the road, I just preferred to work on it in my own garage. However where it sits right now at my Grandmas I have plenty of shop space and tools there to fix it up properly.

'72 Scamp Can I just fix the front brakes to get it home?

My bad here, I didn't explain myself to well. I've done countless brake jobs on modern cars with power disk brakes, replaced rotors, pads, calipers etc. I'm just new to manual brakes and drum rotors. What caught my eye is the master cylinder that shares the same resevor. Not sure if having bad...

'72 Scamp Can I just fix the front brakes to get it home?

I have a '72 Scamp with no brakes at all (the e-brake slightly works) I want to drive this thing 15 miles to my garage so I can get it in my garage to fully work on it. Right now I have absolutely no idea how this braking system works. If I were able to just get the front brakes to work will...

Will 195/70/14 tires fit my '72 Scamp? Current tires are E78-14

So I know absolutely nothing about tire sizes. Right now I have a '72 Scamp with some really old tires on it, E78-14 on the front, and D78-14 on the rear. I found a used set on Facebook, 195/70/14 with 50% tread left for $80. Will these tires work? I just need something so I can move/drive the...

'72 Plymouth Scamp - What parts do I need to complete front end?

Last August I posted a thread about a '72 Scamp I got from my Grandpa. I was just going to sell the car, but now I want to put it together and drive it around/enjoy it. This winter I want to source all the parts I can to start working on it this summer. The biggest issue right now is it's...

I have a 1972 Plymouth Scamp that's been sitting for 25+ years, how much is it worth?

Haha, ya he did give me a small challenge. I searched his shop, garage, and shed and could not find the thing. The grill is in the back seat, but I could not find that damn bumper.

I have a 1972 Plymouth Scamp that's been sitting for 25+ years, how much is it worth?

I forgot to add my Uncle helped me out today and knows a bit about the car. The odometer shows 89,300 miles but said the original motor had blown up. Him and my grandpa found a totaled out Duster, pulled the motor from that and put it in this car.

I have a 1972 Plymouth Scamp that's been sitting for 25+ years, how much is it worth?

So today I got to work and I am beyond disbelief. I started with the tires to at least get it rolling, all 4 were completely flat with huge cracks in them, thinking no way in hell any of them would hold any air. Put air in all 4 and surprisingly all of them held air. Next I wanted to make sure...

I have a 1972 Plymouth Scamp that's been sitting for 25+ years, how much is it worth?

Thanks, he was definitely a cool guy. He had a used car lot in the 80's-90's and always had all kinds of cool cars he bought and sold. By far my favorite was his 1950's Ford Fairlane retractable. He ended up selling it years before he passed away.

I have a 1972 Plymouth Scamp that's been sitting for 25+ years, how much is it worth?

I won't quote everything you said but thank you very much. I'd say I'm pretty good at auto detailing so I will clean this thing up as best as I can. I'm not the best mechanic in the world but I'm 90% sure I can get this thing up and running again. Wow $10K? I was thinking maybe $2-4,000 for...

I have a 1972 Plymouth Scamp that's been sitting for 25+ years, how much is it worth?

Nice, not far away at all. I'm almost positive all the front end parts are in the trunk. Once I get some time I'll get it out and get some more pictures. Shouldnt be to hard now, the white Mustang is out of the shop, and the blue Galaxy is moved over so I can at least open the door.

I have a 1972 Plymouth Scamp that's been sitting for 25+ years, how much is it worth?

Brand new here, hopefully I am posting in the right forum. A few years ago my grandpa gave me this 1972 Plymouth Scamp. He built a shop at least 25 years ago and told me he drove the car in this shop, parked it, and it hasn't moved since. Unfortunately he passed away last year so I can't get any...
