Tank you very much: advice please

So, the restorer wants to replace the gas tank right off the bat, sight unseen, because it is original to 1960 and, he says, "probably has bad interior rust." Well, when I was a recent college grad, my '67 Dart could not hold more than five gallons at a time before it dribbled through the seam...

Sunvisors and headliner: 1960 Valiant 200

I see prices on eBay from $20 to $250 for a pair of sun visors. I need the entire deal, including the rod and its mounting bracket; all that is gone. Did the original Valiant have visors that color matched the interior? Any suggestions as to what will fit? The head liner is long gone, but...

How do I get the ash tray to stay closed?

Seriously. There doesn't seem to be any latch and it just flops open. Even has the original lighter! I quit smoking years ago, so won't do me much good, but short of JB Weld is there a way to get it to stay shut? I figured out how to activate the wipers, by accident, earlier this week, so hoping...

    1960 Valiant Restore: advice welcomed.

My first Slant Six was a '67, which I backed up with the driver's door open resulting in a replacement door that was green, the car was white. Overheated the engine repeatedly, but whatever abuse I hurled at her, she never quite. Later, I got a 70's station wagon, which ran flawlessly, and not...

    Speedometer question: 1960 Valiant

The needle is missing, so assuming the entire unit needs to be replaced. Question is do I go with this junkyard find and hope it works or go with this apparently NOS Wagner unit? A 100% restore is not critical to me, but I'd like to keep the visual integrity the same, by having the center cover...

Original dash, 1960 Valiant: wiper switch

But the wiper switch appears to be corroded solid. Can a universal switch be installed without a lot of trouble? The original knob is intact.

    What kind of shocks?

Recently got this old girl, shocks seem soft. The rear leaf springs are unbroken and the front torsion springs are intact. Any suggestions as to if I should go with a stiffer than stock shock to protect these 60 year old components, or will basic shock absorber be the better choice?

Need some help getting her to daily driver condition.

Paid too much, but couldn't resist the toilet seat trunk. I need some help figuring out how to get going. She runs and stops smartly, but many little details are missing, and I'm not sure what I can do for some of them. It is not necessary to be a 100% accurate restoration; I am happy enough...
