    A friend of mine that ran Mopar dirt cars back in the day ran the sqareback and race constant voltage electronic regulator with no issues. I would trust the NOS Mopar Performance first.

    Use the Joe Gibbs Driven assembly grease. It's the same or similar to the High Pressure lube Hughes used to send with his cams. Now he uses Driven. It's the thick, brown stuff. You can get it by the one pound little tubs. I know you're talking breaker points for ignition, I use it for that too!!

    Right. But power has to pass through the gauge. If the gauge is fried, you'll still have no power. Also, what inertia said. Good luck!

    Check the connections on the amp gauge. It's in close proximity to where you were messing around. Loose amp gauge connections cause the issues you're having.

    Looks like you figured it out. Fwiw, I had a 66 D100 with a poly and auto. Used the J series Champion short reach big block plugs.

    TIPM issues are very common on these Chrysler products. You can unsnap it from its holder and lift it out and look underneath where all the different harnesses plug in. Wouldn't surprise me if there are corroded connections under there. I know this because I have fixed quite a few of them.

    Agree with Slick on this. Check where the wiring plugs into the bottom of the fuse/relay center. Those TIPM( Totally Integrated Power Module) are known for issues.

    Take a look in the distributor cap. Make sure the button on top of the rotor isn't burned up.

    Look at the date codes. Someone may be looking for it. The single field still has the nifty little loom.

    Listen to Trailbeast. If you twist that stuff trying to tap it, it WILL spin it the housing, twisting off/breaking the wire that's soldered to it inside.

    What is this ?

    The first pic, that is the resistor for the electric assist choke for the carb. The next two pics, it appears someone "piggy backed" a 4 pin resistor in with the two pin. Apparently it has been converted to electronic ignition? If so, it definitely shouldn't have been done that way.

    Ballast resistor. Check both sides of it for juice.
