Haha, never seen a snarky sarcastic post from you before.

What makes you think it was Richard Petty's car?

Cost of rusty project or parts car

Could be a decent driver/sleeper...I'd offer $500-600 and maybe go up to $800.

    1966 Valiant Signet $10K & didn’t meet reserve?

That has absolutely zero to do with what it's actually worth. Most A-bodies projects are in the red the moment you spend the first dollar on it. I wish more here understood this.

    1966 Valiant Signet $10K & didn’t meet reserve?

Seller didn't do any actual market research.

    8 3/4 rear ends

Looks like a Duster you have? Find a '65-'67 B body rear and move the perches, will be just right.

What to do with a 65 Valiant that won't sell

And the numbers are dwindling. Pretty soon the bulk of the muscle era crowd will be just like the pre-war resto crowd - dying off in nursing homes. Sure, there's always a small segment of fanatics that are much younger, but the majority are people who were young when those cars were new. That...

What to do with a 65 Valiant that won't sell

Fix it as a driver, sell it much cheaper, or cut it up.

what to do wheel will not fit

The b body rears work great on Duster/Demon/Dart Sport. Anything else you need modern wheels with a lot of positive offset like was mentioned.

Does this car have a usable part on it?

Whoever parted it out would be sitting on most of those parts for months or years before they could break even. IMO it's a $300 car and only to someone restoring a Barracuda.

Does this car have a usable part on it?

It's worth a few hundred - the small parts + scrap value.

    Learning to hate Facebook

I check my FB updates once a day - takes all of 5 minutes to scroll through and maybe respond to 1 or 2.

    Guess what`s back

Seems like a decent car except for the roof issues...what's a more appropriate price?
  21. 451Cuda

I hate to even think of it, but '65 Signet value?

Early A's just don't bring much money unless it's an exceptional survivor car or something very rare. I agree with chryslerfat $1500 at the most, if you get more you're lucky.

    Stirring up a hornets nest

Well what are your needs? Purely subjective when it comes to the enjoyment of your car. If you need to run with all the strokers and big blocks, then you're in for a difficult and expensive journey. If it's just to have fun with the car regardless of how quick it is, then keep the 273.

Last nights score. Did we do OK?

Been collecting 8 3/4's for awhile, been paying an average of $100 for housings with axles and up to $200 for complete C-body or truck rears. I'd say you did good getting both of those for $150

    Attitude adjustment

I've met quite a few people who for some reason need to embellish all of their attributes and accomplishments, and without exception they all had major problems with insecurity and low self-esteem. For my own peace of mind I've learned to just avoid them. And yet here I am posting in his...

So I'm guessing you lost money on all 400 of those previous Mopars, eh? It's also amazing that you can't find a set of wheels with all that experience and wisdom. Man...this site just keeps getting better and better :banghead:

    1962 Valiant 440

Just get a 2" holesaw and cut them so there's a straight path out the fenderwell for each tube. Can't guarantee the neighbors will want to talk to you after that, but it would be fun!
  28. 451Cuda

WOW is all I can say

That parts car is about $5,400 too high.

64 valiant just rolled up!! v-8 car with 400 parts

I love how I click on the "solid car" thinking it's pics of the frame and floors...and it's one of those advertising links that takes me to some stupid crap I don't need on Amazon. :banghead: You scored, I should have jumped on that when I was thinking on it a couple weeks ago.
