No offense but sounds like more than 10% fall into that "not so good" category .... as a current certified mechanic I can tell you it's hard to tell what driveline noise is normal while under no load. I've ran enough cars in the air to say most seem "sloppy" and sound like they're gonna fall...

Hurst super shifter 3 with factory '70 swinger handle ... Works great !

.010 feeler gauge and a little wiggle of the shifter handle worked for me ! Just make sure the feeler gauge is centered with the handle

I measured 2" from firewall to the edge of bellhousing / edge of block. Not sure of difference b/t your car and mine though .... I wouldn't think it would be much. But judging from your measurement vs. mine, a 1/2" forward would put your shifter a bit closer to center !

I will try and take measurement tonight. I can tell you, in my '70 swinger the super shifter 3 fits perfect ..

Looks like any shifter you put in will be too far back. Almost looks like the Trans needs to go forward a bit. Is the motor in the car also ?

Mine is center in my '70 dart. Is your hump original to the car ?

That's funny ! I don't think I've ever removed a trans with the pilot bushing stuck to the input shaft. I've had trouble separating the 2 before but the bushing always stays in the crank !

Still looks short as hell ! But I think the difference is b/t bench and bucket seats ...

The stock handle is a slip in handle, it already has one hole from the factory. I drilled the 2nd hole, cut thin grooves to match the shifter base. Fits good and tight .... Plus if I ever need to put the factory shifter back in the car, the handle still locks in place. You could always buy a...

Yeah, I got a POSI for ya ..... !! haha I think even if was racing it, I still wouldn't like the short shifter. I banged gears in it for a little bit and was to much of a reach !

I went back to factory ! Short stick might be better for a bucket seat car, I just couldn't get over the reach .... plus the damn thing loosened up after a few hard shifts ! I do like the feel of the T handle, too bad its a diff thread pitch than the factory knob ..

yes these would be the HD straight rods. the shifter came with rods but one of them is clearly not right. I searched the part #s and both are 3-4 rods. I just want the correct #s for all needed ram rods for an A-body so I can hunt them down and buy the right ones ! Thanks

ok, I've done some research but cannot get anything positive. I'm looking for the correct part #'s for an A-body 1-2, 3-4 and reverse Ram rod linkages for super shifter 3. I know some of you have complete setup's, please get me the #'s !!!!!
