It can easily be done alone
1- open hood
2- loosen front bolts on hinge, then just snug them up
3- loosen rear bolts on hinge, then push up on front of hood, you will see the rears move (the front bolts act as a pivot)
4- tighten and check.
Ok, I think I figured out what you mean. You did not buy the ones with the built on clip for spade style arm, but you have the type that you need to use the included snap on clip that corresponds to a spade type arm ( should have come with it ), but I assume that it didn't. I would return them...
Ya they are a pain to get perfect. Loosen the front hinge bolt , and then snug up(it will act as a pivot). Loosen the rear bolt completely. Apply upward pressure on front of hood , you will notice the rear bolt will lower itself in the hinge mount. tighten and check fit.
