Help please - Hood does not sit flush

The hood on my 67 cuda does not fit flush up near the front windshield. It sits about 1/2" high up near the drivers side and about 1/4" high on the passenger side. It is also a little off up near the front of the car. It does not look like I have any room to lossen the bolts that mount the hood to the hinge and adjust it. How/where can a adjust to get the hood to sit flush with the body?

Ya they are a pain to get perfect. Loosen the front hinge bolt , and then snug up(it will act as a pivot). Loosen the rear bolt completely. Apply upward pressure on front of hood , you will notice the rear bolt will lower itself in the hinge mount. tighten and check fit.

IIRC, the bolts screw into floating nuts. The assy just clamps the hood to the hinge. So you get the appearance that theres no room.It will work.

I'll keep my fingers crossed for you. You don't want to find the threads in the nut blocks are stripped. Nor do you want to find the hinges are worn out.
