    Adding fuses/circuits...69 a body?

Bosch type relays are a good idea.

Has any one ran a Alternator with a internal voltage regulator?

We used a Tuff Stuff internal reg. one wire on my son's Dart when we rewired it. No battery drain in two years, and it puts out 14.5 volts at idle. When we ordered it from Summit, they had the wrong part number listed. Got in touch with Tuff Stuff to get the actual one wire model.

    wiring harness

I just finished putting a Ron Francis Bare Bones in my son's 70 Swinger. They are VERY generic and gm oriented. American Auto Wire is good for Chevy. Not sure about their Mopar stuff. I see Painless has a new harness that is Mopar color coded. AbodyJoe did a very good write up on putting an...

    67 barracuda EZ Wiring Questions

Some of the ones I used were left over from the AAW kit I put in my kid's C-10. The others I got from the local parts house. They were the Pico brand. They aren't exactly the same, but they snap into the connectors and seem to stay put.

    Bare Bonz review

It does have a relay for the lights. It is a little short on circuits. No back-up light circuit. I pulled power from the radio circuit. I think that is how the factory did it. They make a harness called Express. It installs the same way, but has more circuits.

    Bare Bonz review

Forget to mention I also installed a Tuff Stuff one wire, internal regulated alternator. It works great. 14.6 volts at idle. When I ordered it, Summit had the wrong part number listed. Got a hold of Tuff Stuff directly and got the right number. 8509RGDP is a black double pulley model. I...

    Bare Bonz review

Finished up installing a Ron Francis Wiring Bare Bonz harness in my son's 70 Swinger. This is not a bashing of their product, simply what I had to do to make it work for a Mopar. This doesn't have the wires pre-wired into the fuse box. You make the connection to the accessary, then run the...

    67 barracuda EZ Wiring Questions

On my son's 70 Swinger, I separated the factory wiring from the switch to the wiper motor from the main harness. Those wires and connectors were in good shape. I removed the factory feed wire and used a factory style blade terminal on the aftermarket wiper feed wire. Pico makes the original...

    Rallye dash ground?

Thanks for the help. Getting close to being done with this project.

    Rallye dash ground?

This may be a dumb question. Rewiring a 70 Dart Swinger with rallye dash. Does the cluster have a ground wire or does it get grounded through the mounting screws? The only ground I could find in the wiring diagram was on the voltage reducer for the fuel level gauge.

    Dead short?

I have not installed a new ignition switch yet. I was testing the wiring from the switch inside the column not out to the car. My thinking on the turn signal switch was that, I need to nearly remove it to get the ignition switch so I might as well replace it too. There are couple sketchy...

    Dead short?

Did some checking with the ohm meter. I found one yellow wire in the ign switch harness that showed 35 ohms. The wire is separated from the other wires and has a butt splice just up from the factory connector. This makes me think there were problems before. None of the other wires in either...

    Dead short?

70 has the key in the column and I did these tests with the key off. Checking each wire in the column loom was going to be my next step. Thanks for the help.

    Dead short?

Finally got a bit of time to do some diagnostic on the Dart. I hooked up a tail light in series with the ground cable from the battery and made a new jumper for the ground that fried on the steering column mount. There are two flat, 8 pin connectors that come from the steering column. With...

    ez wiring harness

Not sure about the harness you have. The EZ harness I put in my son's 67 Chevy pickup came with a new headlight switch that didn't reduce voltage to the lights. I had relays in it before we re-wired the truck. Still, as said above having the relays won't hurt. I use one in my race car for...

    Disconnect switch wiring

I did my race car similar to the above but, I used the small pole on the master switch to break the ground for the cd relay.

    Dead short?

Thanks Redfish. I forgot to mention the short happened when the switch was switched to run before even being turned to start. 67Dart273, great info as always. I really appreciate the help. Now for some spare time and big can of patience.

    Dead short?

Thanks for the tips. I think a new harness with a modern fuse box etc. is the way to go. After I figure out what went wrong in the first place. Looking at Ron Francis or American Autowire. Does anyone know if either of them bypass the ammeter or does this need to be a custom upgrade?

    Dead short?

My son tried to start his 70 Swinger today and got a huge ball of smoke from under the dash. Checking things out we found the ground wire that goes to the steering column was fried. Not melted insulation but, copper wire turned to ash fried. The key switch seemed a bit stiff to turn and...

    Run Stand

I used this set up on my race car to bypass my older MSD 6200 box that I suspected was bad. It appears it was bad. I used a jumper wire from my big relay(forgot the part # it looks like a Ford solenoid) that I use as a 12 volt source for everything in the engine compartment. When I turned the...

Well, as soon as I posted this the thread I was looking for popped up at the bottom. Didn't think to look in the parts for sale forum. Pm sent to crackedback.

    MSD stop bushings

Does anyone make larger stop bushings for the pro billit distributors? I see FBO makes a kit of one 10* and one 14* for $35. That seems a bit steep but, I'm kind of a cheapskate. I thought I read somewhere on here a member was making them but a search doesn't show it.

    High RPM miss

No idea on the internals of the motor. Guy I bought it from didn't have it long and he new nothing about the motor. MSD has no rev limiter. I have triple checked that the plug wires are in the right order. Hopefully, I will get some time tommorrow to check things out some more. Thanks for...

    High RPM miss

I'll try to keep this as short as possible. 74 Dart bracket only car. 440/727 I am having popping through the exhaust at about 3,000 rpm that turns into severe backfire at 4,000. I have replaced all of the factory wiring except for the lights. I have a factory electronic dist., MSD model...

    The best harness?

I don't know about their Mopar harness, but American Autowire made a great one for my son's 67 Chevy pickup. The wires were extra long and plenty of extra terminals. I used some of them when I rewired my Dart. It also came with extras like map lights and third brake light if you want to add...

    Painless switch panel?

Finished up the rewire of the old green heap. The Painless kit was good. Lots of extra wire and zip ties. The only complaint I have is the switch for the fan and water pump only turns one of them on at a time, not both. I'll probobly use the leftover acc. switch for the water pump when I...

    distributor wiring?

You guys rock! And/or I'm an idiot. I couldn't find the schematic for the 6200. The newer boxes have all of the wires coming out of one side of the box. I couldn't find the violet and green wires until you guys posted the right schematic. After pulling a couple feet of black tape I found...
