I would take it back to the builder, and show him the article on how to properly install the rocker shafts. That way if you run into other problems maybe he will make it right.

SOunds like timing to me. After you found TDC did you lock the distributor down there? I would move it one way or the other just a little bit. SOunds like its close if it does start sometimes.

Crank and Pistons, rods are the same unless you want better ones.

Most of the strokers Ive seen are deck height of negative. A stroker yields a lot higher compression at zero deck than a standard 340.

What could I expect my HP/TQ to be with this combo and the Lunati solid cam listed above?

Rick, the first Lunati cam is one I've actually been thinking about. I referenced it in an earlier post. Do you think Ill have issued if the pushrod tubes havent been clearanced?

Not worried about the race fuel. I run it now anyways. I usually mix 92 and 110 50/50. I don't believe they have been clearance. SO we will go with no to that answer.

Is that too low for aluminum heads. the heads im looking at flow 282/200 at .500 299/211 at .600 SO its gonna take a pretty good cam to work those heads.

ANother question will running a roller lifter require any block modifications? I have heard that some have had to modify the lifter bore due to oiling issues?

Thinking of going with the cam listed below in my rebuilt 340. Question I have is, why does a roller cam require a bronze distributor gear? I don't see it I guess. Where the gears mesh the cams seem to be the same. Let me know the reasoning. And also does this seem like a pretty good cam?
