Walker makes a economy muffler. Thinner gauge steel. It has a somewhat muscle sound like a low compression 340 stock factory muffler. Not exactly but makes someone think you have some beef under the hood. As time goes buy, it sounds better.
The super six intakes are known for vacuum leaks mostly the aluminum and sometimes the cast iron ones. Try running some water over the intake before it heats up and see if a vacuum leak is there. If the carb is running rich, wants the exhaust look like?
Try running the car at 850-1000 rpms in park. Spray some 80/20 water soap solution around all sides of the intake manifold and carb base. You might have a thin crack. I usually rejet my 2 bbls for a little richer at idle and drive.
I have the super 6 intake, carb/cleaner and kick down linkage, what other parts do I need for the conversion? Heard about special bolts and exhaust manifold. Trying to get this conversion done over the weekend and not a long week project.
I have(2) 225's , iron and aluminum motors. Would like to take my '63 Dart to the track as a T or U/SA. I've done the drill many times with a V8 but this 6 has me scratching my head. Any SE racers out there with some help" Thanks
