My shifter mechanism seems to bind up and there is no linkage attached at the moment. I would think it would move freely with out the linkage ? Are these easily service or do I need to send it out or replace it.

Got the tranny in the Dart today but I cant remember how the linkage went. Can some one post a picture of how the rods go. Its a 833 over drive trans.

Anyone know were I can get just one bolt ? Arp doesnt have them listed and the Mopar Performance kit doesnt have the shoulders on them and is $35 anyways.

The correct shifter to use in an a body is a 71 and later B body, non console shifter. No factory A body shifters were ever made.

Yes, The top hole is were the Z Bar stud goes. There should be a hole there all ready, or if an auto car it will be stamped but not punched out. Of coarse you said yours was hacked so you'll need a measurement. Also, the lower holes were plug welded to the frame rail.

The factory welded then to the inner fenders. Not solid just a short seam on each side.

They made cast iron versions too. I Have one for my Dart.

It looks just like the Hurst Competition Plus I have on my tranny but it does say hurst on it. Really whats throwing me off is the straight reverse lever.

Can anyone id this ? No name, No parts numbers that seems to have any meaning., Reverse lever is straight no angled back. Shifter has positive stops.

Thats what I was saying. The first year for the od was 73 or 74 and they were aluminum. The iron case came out later. Mine is an iron case over drive.

Cant be an od if its a 69 trans. ods started in 73? I believe and were aluminum till later years as far as I know.

Passion or Brewers should have any 4 speed parts you need. and like I said get the hump and lay it on the floor. You will know were it goes from the way it fiits, about 2" from the floor pan seam.

Here a picture, when you get the floor hump and lay it on the floor you will pretty know were it goes.

The bell housing should bolt right up to the 318. The crank may be drill;ed it may not. If you do a search there should be info on her on what to do if your crank isnt drilled but I believe it involves cutting down the input shaft which is something I myself wouldnt do.

You need to replace the entire shifter. A ball wont screw on to the pistol grio handle.

It will bolt up.

The shifter mount on the ebody trans is to far back for an abody.
