    ????? Modified 727 ????

Im sure you have one, but, are you running a drive shaft loop? I have seen guys twist a drivshaft or bust a yoke out & 9 times out of 10 they shell the tranny as well. Not a good thing. A loop will save you sometimes but not always. Either wasy it would be a good investment. You duster sounds...

    727 2-3 upshift VERY harsh

Mine does the same thing. Damn thing feels like its going to knock the glass out of the car at 1/2 throttle. Thank god my 727 is going back to auto valve body....

    Anybody running a TCI 727?

Maybe because its a 92' it was built better. Back when TCI cared about quality & not all about making profit like they are today. Just goes to show you they dont make them like they use to.... I as well have had the local big boys say that TCI is just rebuilt junk with black paint & a TCI...

    9 1/4 rear?

My buddy does the same thing with dana 60's out of the 70's dodge trucks. He sends all of his stuff to Moser as well. Says he has solved his rear end problems for life. The "home-made" rears must hold up good, he has a 10 sec big block dart!!!

    8-3/4 or Ford 9 inch???

Like the other have said, by the time you get the 9" ready to run in your a body, for a little more you could have a brand new DANA 60. I have been looking at some rear end options as well & have come to the conclusion that if & when my 8 3/4 gets to the point that its no longer rebuildable...

    Sand in the driveshaft?

I bet its just slag or grit from the chop saw they used to cut it down. As long as its not giving you any bad vibes, I wouldnt worry!

    9 1/4 rear?

Thats what I was afraid of. I think the tallest gear for it is the 3:55 & the lowest is the 4:88 if that. So im starting to think, If in doubt go DANA 60! 8 3/4's are extinct around here & like you said, by the time I get one shipped here, then shipped to have it reworked if need be, & all the...

    9 1/4 rear?

A lot of talk about rear ends has been going on lately so I thought I would ask. Why not put a 9 1/4 from a dodge truck in? Granted you would have to get it cut down, but parts are easy to find, not to mention the wide array of gear ratios to choose from. Plus you can find them at the local...

    question about converters

Thats what I was thinking. I highly doubt your running tall gears, but that would be one thing to look at as well. Build your stall around your gears is what I was told. My parts car has 2:73's in it. That poor thing has never spun a tire in its entire life!! Could you imagine:angry7:?

    Which Dana?

I had the DANA 80 in my 02 cummins ram 6 speed, with 3:55's. You could floor it, side-step the clutch in 2nd gear & it wouldnt phase the DANA 80. It would lite em' up every time.....until the clutch crapped out that is. That truck was bombed out as well. (Bombed = diesel slang for hot rod).

fishy68, thanks for the info. I'll look for a 71-73 valve body & see what I can find. 74Burntorange, sorry its a 727. If it was i would swap in a heartbeat!

    manual valve body to auto.

Im wanting to go from a manual reverse valve body to an automatic & was wonderin if the valve body controlled the shift firmness? The car shifts hard as hell with the manual valve body in it now & I want to keep it that way just with an auto. valve body. Forgive my pathetic knowledge of...

    Manual or Auto. valve body??

djwhog, I too like having total control over the tranny. Im not sure what valve body it has in it. It is the reverse pattern tho, I really like it. (Reverse pattern). The guy I got it off of said it was a "good" one & he spent alot of money on the tranny. Mine Free wheels in low. Is that the good...

    Manual or Auto. valve body??

hello all, im currently building my 70' 340 duster into a street/pro-street car & have a quicky question. The car currently has a manual reverse valve body on it with a B&M pro stick & buckets from a 71 Duster. I have a parts car with a mint colum shifter & the delux bench seat with the center...

    Shift linkage

Anyone know if someone like Lokar makes a cable shifter to replace the hard linkage? looked all over Lokars web site & all I seen was stuff for Chebies...?..

    Shift linkage

Thanks, I would like to run it that way but I really like the B&M pro stick thats in it now. Very simple operation. I have a bad feeling that 2nd will be easy to miss if I run it through the colum.....

    Shift linkage

OK guys, here is one that I have got mixed responses from at other sites... Im wanting to run my manual reverse 727 from the old colum shifter thats in my parts car thats a /6 904 car. I know it will work, but will the linkage mount up on the 360/727 combo just as it is on the /6 904? Or will I...
