    TTi Headers,What Starter?

I could only use the robmmc starter and had to grind that to fit. I'll have to dig up the pix. There is no way a stock starter fits in an early a with Tti headers

TTI header clearence on a 65 Valiant

My 1"bars aer real tight - they might still rub in spots but its too hard to tell looking down them the schumacher mounts i got were worse fitting then the rubber at the time so off came the mounts and i went back to the old ones - it seems they designed the headers with work rubber mounts.

Need new Gas Tank, any Rust proof ones?

rock valley does all stainless i believe. I got my tank from them, and they added the EFI pump and sump for it. Good place to do buisness with The aluminum ones from hot rod city look nice but you need to modify the filler neck, replace the sender with a universal one and then you have to make...

    Magnum 5.2 into early A?

i used 71 340 hi po's for years with manual steering - they worked great
  14. D

    Magnum 5.2 into early A?

i think magnums use the 360 oil pan - all of them went to the larger back circle when they went magnum block. that would eliminate the 318 / 273 pan but a 360 pn would work fine.

    TTI Exhaust on Early A's

Rick - I had 71 - 340 manifolds ( i didnt forget !!) and te car went 13.3 @ 102 I went to a shorty spitfire and it went to a 12.80 @ 108 - no other changes. Online calcs make that an easy 30 hp difference. I'm curious to see if there is a difference from the short tube to the long tube.

    TTI Exhaust on Early A's

I have a /6 car originally - and it has a column shift. I still have it in there. I needed to modify the column for the last headers and it helped the situation this time - along with re-working a rod - other then that it fits fine.

    TTI Exhaust on Early A's

I did try to fit the schumacher mounts in and tapped a few spots to try - since it was a no go I really didnt need to ding them, but it is what it is now.

    TTI Exhaust on Early A's

got about 500 miles on the setup now - took it to carlisle and back - alot more power then my old setup -I gotta schedule dyno time now to get the H vs X pipe stuff done. the headers are close to the t-bars and they touch at idle - i can hear them vibrating - so I gotta see if the motor moved...

    TTI Exhaust on Early A's

I had it where they want - i had to move it 1/4 to the drivers side - both sides of the tubes were hitting the t-bars intill i shifted everything over.

    TTI Exhaust on Early A's

they are saying they have to use the new poly loc mounts with the brackets, because of the bolt locations on the mount they require a hole in a different location , so one goes with the other. Great design, just not enough room with my 1" bars and such

    TTI Exhaust on Early A's

After Carlisle for sure - I plan on getting the X pipe installed and driving it up there like that. From that point I just need time to schedule a day at the dyno and start wrenching again! Basically the poly locs dont settle like the rubber ones do -- they are the same height not...

    TTI Exhaust on Early A's

ok - The poly-loc mounts wont work ( the factory rubber isolators are 1.5" thick ( same as the poly's ) but the rubber compresses about 1/4" with the engine on them) The extra 1/4" is too high up fr anything to work ( I have to swap centerlinks and cut the fan shroud now to make it work...

    TTI Exhaust on Early A's

I'm here to report that the poly mounts will not work with the headers, apparently things are SOOOOOO close that the poly mounts will be a no go! The rubbber is the same thickness ( 1.50 " I believe) and the issue is when weight is placed on the rubber, it gives, pushing down the motor in the...
