Hey guys needing some rust guidance for my 69 Dart fender. I’m going to cut out and replace the real bad spots in the bottom, but the rest of fender looks pretty good. On the inside of the fender does have some pretty nice pitting. I just wanna prevent it from getting worse. How would you treat it?

I’m sanding down a hood for my 65 dart to mostly bare metal. I won’t be painting it right away but want to prime and store it. Which primer would be best, hood looks to not need much body work. Thanks Dustin

Scuff and paint. I just repainted my doors that had SEM brand with the 1K trim paint on a scuff and paint. Turned out perfect.

I did all of them on my 65 Dart. You can use needle nose plyers and yank all the old sweeps out.

I’m getting some rebuilt by moparleo right now.

I think it’ll be ok to scuff lightly and hit it with the same brand glass black.

Liking the 67 Dart grille wall art there

I use the 20$ purple HVLP gun from harbor freight and it’s worked well enough. Used it on a few engine compartments. Curious about the black widow one myself.

The POR I was told stood for Paint Over Rust. But in my experience it didn’t work well and just peeled away anyways.

I got the windows tinted on my 67 Belvedere. Don’t like people looking in my cars so easily. 30% tint

My buddy had the same exact 68 valiant but was a 2 door.

Should be a nut on the end of trim on the door handle side. The rest should pop off.

Sassy grass is a great color. If you like the color who really cares what others think.

You can buy rattle can epoxy primer like 20$ a can, has a button you push to activate it. You can get a throw away paint gun harbor freight also for 20$ to just use for primer.

I’d say blasting. If the prep wasn’t so bad you can Powdercoat over the old powder.

The originals are held on with screws. I can get a picture tomorrow if you’d like.

That’s a bummer deal been crazy amount of storms this year.

I also have a UP six pack hood for my 69 Dart. Mine is misaligned like vitamindart but I also got it over a decade ago. I’d buy AR fiberglass if I were to again.

If it were me I’d take my original one and take it a metal fabrication shop tell them what you wanna do.

Looks great tad. Look forward seeing it all put back together. I also have used the purple HVLP gun it’s not bad at all.

I bought the 69 dart skins just to have extra, to good of a deal. My 69 has little bit of rust but it still has original paint haven’t examined to deeply.
