What do you use for a drop or work light?

I got mine at Menards, but have not been able to find them there since. The one I attached a picture of is from a company called "Alert Stamping" and is available on Amazon. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B004LKRPAS/?tag=joeychgo-20

What do you use for a drop or work light?

I have a couple magnetic, but my favorite is an LED that installs into a standard trouble light. I found and attached a picture. Basically it replaces the guard on a standard trouble light and gets clamped in place so it doesn't come loose. Works like a standard trouble light with no heat of a...

    Condensation issue

Is it coming from below, or condensing on the surface? I have that occasionally if one of my doors isn't completely closed. Warm moist air flows in over the cold concrete and condensates on the floor. Curious if it does it all the time, or just on days that were cold at night and warm up...

Welder advice - where to start

While I am not a very experienced welder, the Hobart wire feed I bought helps me do what I need. I bought the Hobart 180 230 volt wire feed and am running it with solid wire and argon shielding gas. I just looked at the Hobart site and they no longer offer the 180,... It has been replaced by the...

    anybody know about 2-post hoists?

My ceiling was like 11 7/8". Just a hair under 12'. We have mine set at the lower setting, but there is a higher setting too (for the crossbar). I asked the installers what they do if it didn't fit. He said if someone has a lower ceiling, they put the risers between the joists and put the...

    anybody know about 2-post hoists?

Yep,.... bought a couple of those from Greg Smith equipment too. They work well for that, or anything else you need to support or lift

    anybody know about 2-post hoists?

I haven't yet, but my neighborhood mechanic did. I will do the same as he did. He mounted eyebolts in a 2x8 that he mounted across multiple rafters on both sides of the lift. Then he made turn-buckles (kind of like tie-rod assemblies) that he ran from the top cross rail of the lift to the...

    anybody know about 2-post hoists?

By the way,... I agree with this completely. Doing this takes a lot of the wobble out. These lifts will flex, even if properly anchored to the floors. Tying it into the rafters helps stop from gaining momentum from cranking on things and makes them more stable.

    anybody know about 2-post hoists?

I splurged and bought a Rotary 10,000lb assymetrical 2 post like what you are describing. As others mentioned above, the asking price is nearly half the price of a new Rotary lift. Mine cost me about $5k installed. I looked at the other brands, like Atlas at Greg Smith, as well as Bend-Pak and...

    LED bulbs for garage/shop

I had 6 100W incandescent bulbs in my back shop mounted in cheap ceramic bulb sockets. When I started having a hard time finding true 100W incandescent bulbs, I decided to check out LED shop lights (the ones that look like 4' Flourescent). All I did was replace the incandescent sockets with...
