    Rim suggestion

That or he is assuming a bigger wheel automatically means a taller tire, reducing overall gear ratio. In either case, I agree that it's a bad assumption. My opinion,.... go for it man! Make it the way you want it to be! Kudos to you for appreciating these old cars!!

    Rim suggestion

Why not? If that's the look he wants, no issues with that. I'm glad to see a 14 year old being interested in a Duster!! Better than a Honda Civic!

1967 Barracuda rear tire/rim help needed

I'm running 245/60-14 on the back of mine. I have been looking at it, and with my backspacing I'm pretty well centered between the leaf spring and the lip of the wheel well. I could probably squeeze a 255 tire in there but it would be a little tight. Yours should be the same width tire, just a...

HELP - Cragar SS Lug Nut Washers Keep Crushing - Need Alternatives!

Hard to tell in the picture he posted, but is there a conical taper inside the lug hole? It looks like a flat surface for a flat washered lug nut, but I see what you're saying Rusty. It's just hard to confirm that he has the 60 degree conical tapered wheel.

27" tall front tire on a 67 Barracuda?

Shouldn't the 215 be the taller one (if they are both the same series tire)?

Trailer tires - what are you running?

I believe mine on my boat trailer are Goodyear Marathons

    Wheel makeover

I think they look great!! Nice job! I've wondered the same thing myself, but have never seen anyone do body color rally wheel.... Well, except for silver cars!!

    A boy and his wheels

Who wouldn't be. Where did you find those in small bolt pattern to fit a Valiant?? Or have you converted it to big bolt pattern. I've been wanting a set for my '67 Barracuda and I was told they aren't available anymore!

    Pitted Wheels

Oh, I plan to do the big bolt pattern conversion, if for no other reason than to get away from dwindling small bolt pattern options for wheels and brake components. Doctor Diff actually has pretty reasonable pricing for the conversion. $825 for discs up front and that includes new proportioning...

    Pitted Wheels

Our local shops will not put inner tubes in road cars. It was all I could do to get them to put them in the old rusty cop wheels I have on my Charger while it is being rebuilt. I had to swear to them it was only to keep the tires up while it is being worked on, then will be replace with the...

    Pitted Wheels

Thanks! That sounds like what I'm looking to do. I will try that! (along with new valve stems)

    Pitted Wheels

Could have been leaky valve stems I guess. I assumed it was the pitted rims. I know they did clean them up with a wire wheel and put black sealer on them. Still leaked. Maybe it WAS the valve stems leaking. Newer metal style would work better. Thanks for the suggestion. Not a big fan of the...

    Pitted Wheels

Hi Guys, Need a bit of help here. I am thinking of doing conversion to big bolt pattern on my '67 Barracuda (discs up front, drums in back) from Doctor Diff, but can't afford new wheels and tires at the moment with my Charger project going on. $1400-$1800 for the conversion is enough at the...

    255/60/15 tire availability

I'm in the same boat, looking at different options. I'm trying to decide if I should switch to the big bolt pattern or stay with small. If I stay with small, my only real options for wheels and tires is a few options in 15". I agree with you that there just aren't many options in 15". The...

    Back Spacing, which way?

Nice job of explaining it Blu, and a good illustration. The only thing I would add for clarification to what Blu said is that when he is describing the offset (+6, +3, +16), that number is in millimeters. For some reason backspacing is typically called out in inches and offset is called out in...

    Back Spacing, which way?

Let us know how it works out, because I will be doing the same thing,... probably next year! Too much money already went out this year and Christmas is coming.

    Back Spacing, which way?

I'm no wheel expert, but I have been doing a lot of research into what I need if when I convert my '67 to the big bolt pattern. First question,.... Which drum brakes are you using? According to conversations I had with Cass at Doctor Diff, if you go to the big bolt pattern and use the 10x2.5"...

    wheel fitment

I could see that. I'm with you in liking those wheels. I tried seeing if I could get a set in the small bolt pattern. Even contacted American Racing directly and they just don't make them. I will be getting some once I convert to big bolt pattern

    wheel fitment

I want to do the same on my '67 and have been researching it. I think the deal is you need more clearance with disc brakes to clear the caliper. From what I could tell, the Torq-thrust D's are a thicker wheel (than the Torq-Thrust II's) and don't have as much room on the inside of the wheel. I...
