    Estimate My Horsepower

Id say 260-265 at the crank, 190-200 at the wheels. Run it at the track and see what time sufaces. I am guessing high 14s, low 15s, which make a very peppy street cruiser.

    oil pressure Q.

That is perfectly normal and those are excellent numbers8)

    Performance Q's

That feels about what mine is capable of. I guess my mind isn't too far off. Those number are quick for a 318 cruiser and I would be happy with them.

    Performance Q's

Hmmm, maybe a slightly freer flowing muff would help, but I wouldnt think it would much. It feels quicker than 15.3-15.4, possibly high 14s, so I am not sure.

    318 cam selection

I agree with Rob here. The .509 would be too damn much cam and would only have top end power. The XE252 and XE262 would be good low end torque cams for your gear, the latter producing more of a choppy idle. I chose the XE268, which has a very audable lope to it and produces about 12 hg of...

    Performance Q's

I think I reposted this here in a more appropriate section..... I recently took my 69 340 B'Cuda down the track to the tune of a 14.19 sec ET. Not bad for a stock big valve 340, with a soft shifting 727, shifting at 5500, and 3.23s with an unknown tc. Now,my more common cruiser, my 73...

    What times should I expect?

If the converter is near stock with that gearing, Im not so sure that the tires are going to spin all that much, especially with a larger rear tire. If it ran high 15's with that gearing and rear setup, I would be perfectly happy if I was him. That would be a a reasonably quick cruiser with...

    What times should I expect?

True, but then you can always use the correction factor to make sense out of it all.:-D

    What times should I expect?

I would expect 15.5 to 15.9. I just rebuilt my 318. It has 120 miles on the motor now. I still have the stock converter and 2.76 gear 7.25 right now, but a 3.23 geared 8 3/4 is coming in the next month or so. The motor now has Hooker headers, stock rotating assembly, .020 over block, machined...

confused - or just a stupid question

You sure it has an 8 1/4 rear? it may still be the 7 1/4, but nevertheless, the gearing is hurting. The 2.76 is very high and will hurt low end, but it still should do something. I would have to agree with the prospect that the converter may be on the fritz. If you replace it, find something...

    Which Cam in 318

The best option for that package would be the XE268, especially if you work the heads a bit and use a thinner Mopar performance head gasket to bump the compression up close to 9:1. The cam will lope and wil carry good all around power. The 274 is also a decent choice, but i would not go any...

    318 Piston to Valve Clearance

Would a Comp XE262 cam safely work in a stock 318 with 8:5:1 or lower compression pistons without knicking the valves? Also, would it work well with a 2.76 to 2.94 gear for cruising? Also, does it have more lope to it than my Comp 260H cam with .440/.440 lift and slightly better torque and...

Tuning a carb for 1st gear performance

I knoe it may sound obvious, but check your fuel pump, and like you said, look for vacuum leaks. If its timing, then it would have to be off quite a bit inorder to immediately die when you give it a quick, full shot at the throttle. I agree, the single plane manifold hurts low end on a lower...

    K&N FILTER INQUIERY

Ok..knowing That Fram Oil Filters Are Cheap Crap, I Have Been Using Fram Oil Filters On My Duster, Formula S Cuda, O6 Hemi Ram, And My Parents Dodges. Is This Filter Really Any Better At Anti Drainback? Like I Said B4, I Run 20w50 In My Duster With One Of These Filters And I Have Valvetrain...
