    Sayin hey.

That worked years later when a 56 chevy had no reverse. That was a different residence though. There was no hill anywhere near when we had the Plymouth.

    Sayin hey.

Welcome, Our family rode an old Plymouth with the "bat mobile" wings for a few years also. There was a period of 2 or 3 weeks when dad couldn't afford a battery for it so a neighbor with a truck would pull that sled up to 30 mph or so, and dad would turn the switch to run and move the automatic...

New guy with M300 mini motorhome.

I like the motorhome but never liked working on any of them. I can recall borrowing fender covers from coworkers so to have something I could lay on where the floor carpet was gag nasty, like it had never been cleaned. I think that was Winnebago with entrance door directly right of the doghouse...

    Another New Guy with questions.

Welcome. In my personal opinion..., the differential gear numbers you posted are not meant for long over the road journeys even with an overdrive trans. If building an over the road passenger car, why not an over the road/highway gear, like in the 320s? Per what I read above, you already have...

New member with an interesting story.

Welcome Jim. Most of us are here for nothing more than to share what we do know and/or learn what we don't know. I drove our 1st Plymouth to the Ford dealership job daily. Being the used car departments PDI man, I learned that regardless of what brand badge it wears, they are all just machines...

    67 Barracuda hood hinges

If it was all good before it was taken apart, either the hood got warped sometime during this process or they took the hinges apart to paint them and didn't reload the counter spring correctly at reassembly.

New to the forum. Bought a 67 and 69 barracuda. Both setting for 40 plus years

Welcome to the parts desert. It's not as bad as it once was thanks to the aftermarket. Some parts are still nearly impossible to find. Good hunting

I just need heat for the defroster.

There is a difference between defogger and defroster. Defroster throws heat at the glass to melt frost. Defogger short cycles the a/c to remove moisture from inside of glass. My 96 Camrys, Wifes RAV4, etc.., are pretty air tight vehicles. A 74 Plymouth was not. If it sits out in the rain, there...

    1967 Dodge Dart Post

The thing... Better to have one that wont go than one that wont stop. Every 67 model slant 6 a-body I have had was 9X3 drums at front, 9X2 drums at rear. In my day, I could buy a wrecked 73 to 75 4 door Valiant, maybe ordered with towing package, for a couple hundred dollars. Yeah it will be...

    Steering Column Removal—help!

You'll find it easier to take 3 bolts from perimeter of floor plate than working though a much smaller hole in that plate.

Magnum 500 wheels with 4" bolt pattern for 15" diameter

I used adapters to put Magnum road wheels under my 67 notch. At the next local cruise-in I noticed that at least half the vehicles there were on very similar wheels. I changed back to the steels and hubcaps.

    New 1967 Barracuda Owner!

Welcome to FABO. I almost feel cousin. Our first 67 fish was 67 nocthback. Spinnaker white with metallic red guts. It was a slant 6 build but not low end. It got a high end horn ring common to B and C bodies (it has a dust collecting black groove in it, like the A-bodies center console), the...

Well, I’m back with another 68’ barracuda

and again, that is because of the parts shortage caused by railroad strikes just as they were changing from 67 to 68. I had a silver 68 (build date) notchback fish just like it. It still had 67 grilles, reverse lamp switch on the shifter, burlwood instead of linear wood grain, and more 67 fish...

    Forever Car, Finally!

Welcome. I hope you get a lot of enjoyment from it before gov'ment says we can't drive them without paying a outrageous premium. That wont happen in my lifetime. I'm too old to give chit about the 67 fish anyway. It aint been started or washed in over a year. We did enjoy the heck out of it for...

After a lifetime of waiting, I just bought my first classic car

I regret removing the bench with fold down arm rest from my 67 notch. I forfeited my comfort and good amount of my money to gain another little storage compartment and another ash tray in otherwise useless center console. Mine is automatic though. If it had been bench with 4 on the floor I don't...

After a lifetime of waiting, I just bought my first classic car

SWEEEET! The right kind of insurance is a must. The one like yours ( only red ) to visit me was purchased from Hagery Insurance after the previous owner stuck right front to a bridge while being silly. The heavier nose will get away from you quicker than small block or slant 6. If you want it...

    67 Notchback disc brake/suspension questions

Too much we don't know. a new steering gear and or disc brakes may not have much effect on how it handles/stays in its lane. We don't know if its original 67 gearbox or if gearbox has ever been adjusted. Someone may have simply went at the torsion bar adjustments to fit over sized shoes under...

New guy with newly purchased 71 Demon, needs help...

Aftermarket instrument panel plastic? If so, is the wiper switch chassis grounded? Is it the correct or original switch? If not, is it wired correctly? If you have properly diagnosed and confirmed the motor is bad you should ignore my questions.

Qa1 upper control arm and moog offset bushing help

I think the center of the ball joint would be in the same place regardless of its diameter. If you now have the smaller ball joint with late model spindles you have the adapter sleeves in the spindles. Change to the arms with larger ball joint simply means remove those adapters from the...

My first Mopar - '69 Cuda Notchback

I would imagine thats the high impact yellow. Lemon Twist was one name for it. I used it on a 71 Gremlin repaint ( my 1st car and car wreck ). Some number of mod trim cars were ordered with vinyl top delete, so only the interior got the mod trim.

First time Mopar owner rebuilding a 65 273 Charger motor

I can't say what's best. The GM ignition module is probably best bang for the buck. I run Chryslers electronic ignition/chrome box simply because I had it here for free. A lot of parts pulled from a 73 model w/ 318 went on my 67 model 273. Spark ignition, charging system, dual plane intake...

First time Mopar owner rebuilding a 65 273 Charger motor

Yep. Air flow in and out, along with modern spark ignition, and tuning, can exceed the OEM "glory" without the higher compression.

First time Mopar owner rebuilding a 65 273 Charger motor

Welcome. You'll do a lot of reading to sort opinions from facts. Just try to remember "happy moparing" is every ones goal here. Be prepared for sticker shock when you start shopping for those forged dome top pistons. You can't get "original glory" from todays puppy pee/pump fuel either. There...

Not sure if I'm in the right place but here goes

If it was a 65 or earlier 273 there would be a difference at intake bolts and more. Because it is a 66 273, most anything that fits 318 will fit. The small bore correct head gaskets for 273 are difficult to find but the common slightly larger bore 318 head gaskets work also.

    Project VERT FISH

Welcome. Nice fish. I have to say that the coveted rocker moldings without wheel opening moldings is just strange. First thing I would have to do is correct that, especially if it came with 2K in the glove box to spend on it. LOL Happy moparing

long time reader x drag racer retired truck mechanic, i need advice please

A late model p/s gear with the larger spline shaft on the bottom wont work unless you can find a special made pitman arm in the aftermarket. Easiest boneyard check is the nut that holds the pitman arm on. If you need a 1&5/16 socket, that's the wrong/larger shaft that requires a pitman arm that...
