    What Oil Filter to use

You all can call me odd but I only use Mopar filters on Mopar engines. I'm not exactly sure of the part# but I do believe it is a M1-990.

    All cylinders filling with water

IMO I would say that the head gasket was not properly sealed at initial start up. And I agree with 412 you are lucky if it is just water. That really sucks about that new motor though.

    318 ?

The timing is not retarded at all it's pretty close to 20 BTDC that hesitation is because I had just started it. It was not fully at operating temperature. The car pulls pretty hard until the high RPM's. I don't have a tach on it yet so I couldn't really say where it falls off at.

    Engine Rebuilder

I will tell you where not to go. Wayne's Engines in Riverside. I will never, ever, ever, ever take any engine over there. The guys over at Dougan's are good. They kinda get pricey but well worth it.

LA 360 blue smoke after warm up

Run a quick compression test if they seem a little low put a little oil in the cylinders and run the test again if the compression comes up its most likely the rings. If not then it is possible it could be the stem seals. Just my 2 cents

    engine chuggin

You need to go back to at least 10 before top dead center I believe your vacuum advance should point pretty close to right over the oil pressure sending unit

    engine chuggin

When you say 10 atc are you talking after top dead center or did you mistype and meant 10 before top dead center. It should at least be 10 before top dead center.

    Head Casting Location

Sorry this is a stupid question but I was wondering how to find out which heads I have without taking them off. In example x heads or j heads. I have a 1969 318 that is the original engine for my barracuda. I'm a newbie at locating all the casting numbers.

    Mickey Thompson Valve Covers

I was wondering if anybody knows of any valve cover gaskets that actually seal the Mickey Thompson valve covers for a 318. I have tried three different ones and they all leak in the same places. Any advice would be helpful.
