    1/2 cordless impact opinions

Been looking at cordless impacts to carry in car for emergency tire changes. I can't justify paying the prices they want for DeWalt or Milwaukee. Porter Cable seems to be the cheapest I have found. Any opinions or suggestions?

    Anyone Else Like Beer Memorabilia?

Picked up these three at an auction for $22 for the lot. I couldn't make it to the auction dad was going to the sale anyway so I asked him to bid on some framed print advertising that was hanging in the shop. He didn't see them so he bought me these instead. It was the estate of a friend, his...

US Car Tool K Frame Installer

I made my own out of some 2x4 c-channel I had laying around, and some casters. I treid using uprights into the holes in the k-member, but the motor mounts(older biscuit style) where flexing so I laid the kmember on the cart on some 4x6 wood, the only problem i ran into was the piece of wood the...

    How to cut aluminum plate?

Use grinders grease. It is a wax like stuff that keeps saw blades or grinding burrs from clogging up with aluminum filings. I imagine it would work on a cut off disc also. I had some I got at Eastwood.

Thanks guys, the ideas give me some ideas until the weather warms up enough to go outside. I tried Fresh Cab (rodent repellant) and checked a couple weeks ago and found one mouse turd (only one) in the trunk. We have 2 cats outside, but the one is a male and got in the garage this summer and...

    rodent proofing a garage

I usually keep my Dart in a storage unit, and I think I have decided to let the storage unit go, due to price and inconvenience. The storage unit is 20 miles away. I have an old 2 car garage the I plan on cleaning up and sealing any cracks and crevices, in an attempt to minimize rodent...

Rotisserie - never seen one like this before

Yep, that's the one I remember. As for the circular one, just put seats and belts in the car, and go for a spin.

Rotisserie - never seen one like this before

I remember seeing those in Eastwood catalog (I think that's where I saw it) a few years back. If I remember right they were powered by an electric drill(not included). Don't remember the price. I sometimes wonder if some of the stuff in Eastwood catalog is quality or not as they will sell it...

    Want a GOOD creeper

I haven't had much luck with any creeper, it seems one wheel get stuck in a crack in the floor or gets tuck on a pebble and I end up half laying on the creeper, so I just use a piece of cardboard or a piece of carpet.

    Short people

On daily drivers I will lean on fender, lay across engine, sit on fender with my feet in the engine compartment, etc. When I was putting the engine in a 72 Pontiac Grand Prix I had, I actually stood between the water pump and radiator core support when working on the engine. I am 5'8"ish and...

engine stands, not just for engines

Ok, I know I am not the first one to think of this, but what other things other than an engine have you used an engine stand for. I was cleaning my power steering box, wondering how I will paint it. Too heavy to hang from a wire. looked at the engine stand that I just removed my 273 from and...

Anyone build their own engine run stands?

I don't have an engine run stand, but a quick thought, find a pickup frame with the appropriate engine setup (small block, big block, slant six)hack the frame off behind the tranny mount, remove suspension, steering, all of the extra stuff that you wouldn't really need. mount it on casters...
