i got one of the holley economaster nos last year and put on my 318.runs good,didn't see that much of power loss.the also made one for the slant 6

a thicker base gasket is big help with hot starts....this so called gas we get today is has a lot alcohal in it witch causes it evaporate faster on car with carburators and to boil out went engine is shut off hot.

your right,it pushes choke closed.it's 72 318.tried shorter base gasket,still too short.going to try to make new rod.but at 85-90 deg. out almost every day as of late the lack of choke has not been a problem!

thanks slantsixdan and everone else,the ecnomaster carburetor fixed the car,runs great!!!!! i think air horn is warped on bbd.now just to save $$$ to get bbd repaired thank to all for info and offering to help.

just put a holley economaster on my 318, 2280,wow runs great,only nos carburetor did not come with instuctions,my problem is the choke lever on carb is higher than bbd carb,tried to bend rod on choke control rod,but it's just to short to pull choke closed,this car had low top bbd,do i need choke...

hay dan thanks for the info on holley carb...only one i can find is the one on ebay..waiting on reply from seller,was on holley web sight...they don't list economaster...did holley stop makeing them?where can find cross referance to carter bbd #6150s or6152 to holley # ? what other place should...

thanks dan...i like the idea of a new carb,less down time.this is a direct fit,no linkage ,fuel line or air cleaner mods. ? if so i am going that way,as of old carb. it's reman put on in 90s by frist owner,i sent to carb junkies for repair,i 'm not happy,may send it to buzzard.thanks

it's not the factory installed carb,first reman was put on in calif. in 90s,this could be my problem,rough idle,bad bog,die out & some time lean missfire,throttle shaft was repaired,thanks

thanks may take up up on that one,i have the intake back on,started on it yesterday,got late stoped working,just have too put carb back on ,brackets and fuel line.after working out side all day today on forks lifts to tired out from heat to work on car.

i belive its the carb,mixture screws out far to get some what of smooth idle,but now idles to high,compleat new ing system,car still bogs,some times with a lean missfire.this carb was rebuilt last fall by a out state reman company,there no help,90 day waranty is up,also still leaks at botom of...

is carter still in busness ? any one know...i would like to find a good reman carter bbd carb.for 72 demon ,318.some told me holy bought them out,is this true ?
