Anyone have a custom dash?...looking for ideals...

I also converted my dome light to led. Makes a difference. Had to alter Mopar wiring circuit though. Also purchased blue led license plate bolts, and blue led underdash foot lights. Purchased them to match car color. Found a China outlet...

    Dash Bezels

If your referring to the instrument cluster with the rectangular speedo on a imitation wood grained background, my best guess is that they were used from 1970 thru 1976. There's one on Ebay. (Do a search on Duster Dart Demon instrument cluster on Ebay, and you will find one, fairly...

Anyone have a custom dash?...looking for ideals...

Depending on how much time and money you want to spend, you might consider what I did. I took the less painful route, and pretty much used instruments I had on hand. Purchased speedo and tach, however. Used a sheet of about 1/8" thick aluminum

    bench seats vs bucket

I went from bench to buckets, 73 Duster seats into a 70 Dart. Reworking the brackets to fit was a real chore. I like the look of the buckets, but the bench wins the comfort category. My dart will have a hood scoop. Therefore; it must have bucket seats? (illogical logic??)

Complete interior upgrade on my 70 Swinger.

Very impressive. I just had my seats redone, but will have to wait for extra money to do the panels. If mine looks half as good as yours, I'll be happy. Howard

    Speedometer cable search

I'm considering buying a "Equus speedometer for my dash insert. I've decided to replace all the gauges. Does anyone have a source for an aftermarket speedo cable. The Equus meter has 5/8 threaded male recptacle, with a 0.104 square shaft input. I think some of the early GM's may have had the...

    Bucket Seat Substitute

I yet, do not have front seats for my Swinger. I've also thought of van seats, and thought I might modify the back frame to tilt forward, and use my own rails. Coming up with original buckets is getting harder to do. The original bench that was in the car was to far gone to save. Howard

    Instrument cluster ID

I worked as a lead guitar in Seattle for about 20 yrs. Most of the time I played trough a Plush amp. Two 15's, what a sound. That's how I lost some of my hearing in one ear. This is not Mopar stuff, but music and cars have pretty much dominated my life, except for my wife and family. Howard...

    Instrument cluster ID

It's an old Fender bassman head with reverb circuit added, so not original. The cab is one I built, with single 15 in it. It's been in the family for a while, so would have to take time on a decision to sell it. Howard

    Instrument cluster ID

Well, I think its a lot nicer then the usual run of the mill Duster/Dart cluster from the seventys. Looks like it could be easlily restored, since ther's no vinyl to worry about. Tnx: Howard

    Instrument cluster ID

I purchased a Duster parts car, and it came with 3 instrument clusters. Two of them are the usual round gauges with brown walnut vinyl surround. Anyone have an idea which year and model A-body may have used this one? Pic included. Howard

    Window regulator rivet

I'm about to remove the roll up windows from the doors in my 70 Swinger. There is a nylon attachment rivet holding the window to the regulator. Rear window regulators

Does anyone have a formula for removing the rear window regulators? Do they slide out the top, or from inside the body? I will wait until I cut out the qtr panels if it come to that. Howard (70 Dart Swinger) (Will be out of town for a few days, so if I do not respond to a post, I will...

    Dash transplant

Just finished transplanting a dash from a 73 Duster into my 70 Dart Swinger, (my old dash had been hacked up pretty badly by the previous owner). After sanding, paint and a cut finger, I finished the job. Removed the windshield, (glad I did, found and treated rust). Now I'm a little worried...

    Woodgrain dash covering

Thanks guys: Just located a complete dash today. Found one in fairly mint condition by using craigs list. I will have to remove it however. Will start by removing mine for practice. I think it entails removing the windshield to do it, but it will be worth it. My dash is a little hacked up by...

    Woodgrain dash covering

Is there anything available to recover the old ugly woodgrain covering on my dash plate and glove box door? Some of it has been scraped off over time, showing the silver flashing it was adhered to. Just started my project, (70 Swinger), and I like to work from the inside out. Thanks: Howard

    Interior kick panels
