Just installed the door windows in my Swinger. I put in new cat whisker, and rubber wipe strips. There is so much adhesion between the rubber and the window, that it is very tough to roll up or down. The rubber also wants to "flip" in the direction that the window is moving. I tried spraying...

I agree. Have it professionally done, it may be cheaper in the long run. If you must do it your self, you should remove the top layer of paint, as least to the primer. An orbital sander works very well for paint removal. You should re-prime it, and work your way down by grit size to about 600...

A short term fix might be to buy some rust converter, usually in a can, that can be applied with a brush, then primer it. Do as much grinding and sanding as you can on rusted areas. Those areas that you cannot reach, (like lower qtrs), really need to be cut out, and new sheet metal welded in...

I found a listing for door and window rubber at oldmoparts.com. The only listing they show is for a 67 Dart h/t. I have a 70 Swinger h/t. Wondering if they are compatible? I suspect they are. I need everything, roof rail, door, pillar, etc.... This is spendy stuff, and I need to get it right...

There's a few web sites offering power window conversion kits. They are a pretty straight forward installation. I used a universal installation kit on a Willys I had. It was an easy install. Howard

Storing these cars outside is a tough deal, even with a tarp. The tarps sometimes act as a greenhouse, where most of the rust will continue inside of the car. The car still seems to be salvageable, and could make a good project, if not put off too long. Howard

It might be best to call your local auto paint store for advice. It would seem that the generic acrylic lacquer reducer should work, (Dupont 3608s or equivalent). I've used a lot of lacquer primer, and the mixing is not too critical, (primer is usually 1 to 1 1/4 reducer). Try it on a piece of...

I agree with JJR426. Whatever turns your crank. Most of us don't have the funds to accurately restore a car anyway. My idea of a hood scoop, is to buy a fiberglass hood, and lay up a scoop of your own design. Or better yet, cut a hole in the hood, and run a high rise with an external breather...

To wing, or not to wing, that is the question. It is a personal preference. I think your Dart looks plenty scary without the wing. It would also detract from the hood and the stance of the car. It's only an opinion from a biased straight line old fart. Howard

Just ordered two gal of speed blue from TCP Global today. Agonized over color selection for some time. I will be running a black hood with belly band graphics, (Dart Swinger). To me, blue with black, always seemed to be just too cool. Go with what ever floats your boat. Howard

Just received a gallon of high build primer, plus activator from Trinity. Will be able to report on it's quality in a week or so. I'll be laying on a coat of primer on my Swinger. They shipped quickly, with a very competive price. Howard
