Inside locks, but all cups are out 1/4 inch .Going to take the shaft off tomorrow .Did not have camera yesterday , and car is in sister inlaws garage .

There are two (2) different oil seals available for the 7.25 rear axle. The first is National Seal p/n 5124 which is specified for the 63-71 7.25 rear w/9" brakes. The second is National Seal p/n 8660S which is specified for 72-76 7.25 rear w/10" brakes.

Wipe the heavy off with rag , then if you have any brake cleaner , give it a spray it will run right off clean .If it is a sure grip i would use the additive ,then 80 w 90 to it after cover goes back on .

Nothing any worse is looking at a part, that should have had a gasket , and shitty blue or red silicone squeezing out around it .Call me fussy but i am with MOPARDRT , use the proper gasket .

RDS 55047,Fel Pro part number , lot easier then sloppy silicone . Any auto parts store should have in , just give them this fel pro number , they can cross it over to what they carry.

Looks to me like over the years , somebody was beating on that adjuster, when there is no need .I tighten them up by feel till you get a small bit of end play i am thinking 10 to 15 thou then you need that pointer to lock it in place .That bearing is not supposed to get any oil from the rearend...

There was only one flex plate used for the 383, and 440 ,They all came with 727, s.
