    383 Radiator and Fan

In my 67 383 a-body, I have the factory bb radiator, Hayden 2947 low profile fan clutch, Derale 18" fan, 180 stat, no shroud, no room for a shroud really, zero temp issues. Hayden clutch and the Derale fan are a great readily available combo.

1967 Plymouth Barracuda 383 radiator hoses

1 year only part# so hard to find and expensive. Once again, if you really want a stock or repro shroud, a 68 will fit. In my 67 383 a-body, I have the factory bb radiator, Hayden 2947 low profile fan clutch, Derale 18" fan, 180 stat, no shroud, no room for a shroud really, zero temp issues...

1967 Plymouth Barracuda 383 radiator hoses

A general fyi I have found for 67 cars, they seem to be the lost or missing link between the 2 generations (speaking Barracuda here, but true for other models and the same year Dart). Little to nothing is listed for the 67, yet there is little to no difference in replacement parts. Looking...

1967 Plymouth Barracuda 383 radiator hoses

I ordered 68 hoses for my 67, had to trim the upper hose a few inches. Gates 20386 is one of them.

    383 pulleys....

Clutch fits and makes a big difference. Hoses are for a 68 383 Barracuda as they don't make the 67 upper hose. Iirc I had to trim a few inches off the hose, and possibly flip it.

    383 pulleys....

Imo, or in my case, no shroud needed, I have a factory 22" radiator, stock pulleys, not sure of the size but factory correct original, put a Derale 18" fan on a Hayden clutch, the short one made for Mopars, both from summit. I don't even have room for a shroud, and when I started a thread on...

    69 dart 383 shroud

For what it's worth I have a 383, 22" radiator, 18" fan with a clutch. I went through this in some thread years ago trying to find a shroud that fits. Someone chimed in that the fan already takes up the entire air flow of the radiator, so a shroud would be close to useless. It never overheats...

    Big block cooling issues

Iirc, Hayden 2947 low profile fan clutch, Derale 18" fan, stock rad, 180 stat, no shroud, no room for a shroud really. 383, zero temp issues. Did this years ago, I looked at my summit account and it's either too far back to find the exact order with part #s or I just can't locate.

    Big Block Fan Shroud replacement

The 68/69 radiators have different part numbers, but appear to be identical, hose inlet/outlet location, etc. Compared to the 68/69 the upper hose on the 67 is roughly 1.75" to the left, other than that identical except for the overflow hose tab which is in the same location just flipped. The 67...

    Big Block Fan Shroud replacement

Yes, this thread again - I did read through every thread I could find. I have a 67 Bcuda original 383 car with a 69 a-body BB radiator. I bought the Hayden 2947 fan clutch and an 18" 6 blade fan. Not looking for a numbers matching fan shroud, just something that will bolt on. I have no idea...

Factory 1967 big block cars Fan shrouds, Other owners please chim in!!!

I know the 312 is listed as the shroud for 67, but I recall trying to fit a 312 into my car and it did not fit. The guy had a 273 car and put a Hemi in it. I bought the dash harness, an original piece, from him and it was near perfect. His car was as close to original as they come, but...

68 Cuda Heater control plastic pieces ?

I bought a heater control set up from an earlier A Body, it had metal pins. I was told it was from a 66. It was almost identical to my 67, but not close enough- so I just took both apart and swapped the metal pins in mine.

    Leaves in the Heating

Take a hose and run it through the cowl vent with the heater out, or at least with the heater box door open, and the driver side vent too, (the carpet will get soaked if not removed). Make sure to clean out the drains that go from the top of the cowl out the sides, (near the top of the fenders)...

    Heat/defrost cables - new?

Can you buy these cables new? And what about the foam, what have you guys used to replace it? I'm adding this link as it has info on what cables go where: http://www.forabodiesonly.com/mopar/showthread.php?t=79516

    Defroster hoses

You put the larger 2.5 hose on the smaller heater box outlet? I want to order these, so tired of no defrost, but I think I am missing something here. From the vent to the heater, this is my understanding of what you did, but it doesn't sound right. Can you clarify please? 2.5 to 2.25 - you...

    Another What's it worth

I bought one for a 67 a while back, I think I paid $750. I bought it to replace the 69 rad in it and the idea was to sell that, but now it seems that would be stupid if I ever had to replace it I'd be in trouble. The truth is I wish I was half the Mopar hoarder some people are.

    Radiator issue

I checked a few radiator today, and none of them, even the aluminum finned ones, were as fragile as this thing. I'll keep both and worry about it later, much later.

    Radiator issue

Judging by thay, it appears to be a bargain basement recore, and doing it again isn't an option right now. Do good recore jobs turn out like factory new? If I switch them, will the cooling suffer? Is switching the upper tanks an option?

    Radiator issue

I have an original radiator from a 69, and I can run my finger down the cooling fins, (the thin metal folded down the radiator in between the coolant lines) without damaging them. I would even have to use some force to get them to bend over - not that I want to. I also have a radiator for a 67...

    hot/cold control cable

Mine is a non-a/c, and these pics suck a little, but you should be able to see the clips. There is one round one over the rod for the heater door, and one clip on the bracket rivited to the heater to hold the cable in place. The clips on the brackets have a screw in them and if you take that...
