Champion radiator - I cut her open

Doubt it. I run a 3 core Be-cool radiator in mine, and rarely run the fans. As long as I'm moving the temp never gets above 190. In heavy traffic I only run one of the two fans. The 2nd fan has been relegated to a back up since it's not needed. If your hot then something else is wrong...

Suggestions on ac unit for duster

Vintage air makes a sweet low profile unit that is smaller than the stock box. I used an under dash Mopar AC duct vent box (whatever its called) and painted the bumper pad surround to match my dash. The picture of the black scraps is what I cut away to get the box to fit. I also have a...

    Heater core issue?

Troubleshooting a problem is never a waste of time. A waste of time is throwing money at a problem without making sure what's wrong first.

    Heater core issue?

If it turns out to be the core you may think about rebuilding the heater box while you have it out. The foam and seals go bad over time and the box leaks when they do. It's very simple and the system will operate more efficiently with new seals...

    Heater core issue?

If you want to be sure just disconnect the two hoses that run to the heater core and block them off. Blow out the heater core with an air compressor to remove any coolant..put a hose on one side and route it to a drain pan.....be careful. Now block off those two hoses with something and see...

    AC in 67 barracuda

The AC stuff is not going to be the same for your car as mine. I am running a tru-track system and I routed my lines through the wheel wells and up from the bottom so you don't see the hoses draped across the engine bay. Here is a couple more for reference. Best thing for you to do is troll...

    AC in 67 barracuda

You can also use a vintage air or classic air system and modify a factory vent box to give it that stock look. Couple of crude pictures showing the process. Second picture is what you would trim off the stock box in order to make room for hoses. You just stuff the hoses in the back of teh...

    440 Stroker Cooling?

IMO they run best when they are warmed up. Mine runs like a beast at 180-190. At 160 it seems to run a bit rich. That's why I would recommend a thermostat and also doing the bypass trick. I'm planning on putting one back in this fall and seeing how it works out when it gets cooler out.

    440 Stroker Cooling?

Not trying to run it at 160. Just when its cool out it runs at 160 because I have no thermostat...don't lecture me on the importance of it please. This is a special situation and I have my reasons. When its 75 + degrees out and humid as hell which is every day after May 20th, I run one fan of...

    Slant 6 Rad Hoses

The top hoses I found are all flex style so I was wondering if anyone had the part number for the molded top hose? I'm taking a wire and bending a mock up to take with me to the parts store in case I have to buy a different model hose and cut it to fit. Tagged for lower part # Thanks

    440 Stroker Cooling?

Buy the radiator based on your projected hp. Mine is good to 1000 hp and I push 700+. The plus being whatever I decide to push it to when I get bored. If your using the temp gauge as the signal to the relay then the fans should only come on when it gets to temp and then after you shut off...

    440 Stroker Cooling?

I'm running a 30" Be Cool radiator with dual Spall fans on my stroker with 11.5 to 1 comp and I usually have to shut the fan off when I'm driving on the highway due to the temp dropping to 160. I don't have the fan relays tied to the temp switch rather I have a manual switch inside. I don't...

Hose covers / clean up underhood ideas?

I have black rubber hoses with the Gates heat shrink hose clamps and it looks real clean. Clamps are 5 to 15 bucks depending on size. No they are not reusable. You can clean off the logo with paint thinner for a sano finish. http://www.jegs.com/p/Gates/Gates-Power-Grip-Clamps/943359/10002/-1

A/C on the hot rod cruiser

You can run your lines through the side of the passenger side through the removable cover inside the front fender and up and under the k frame or around depending on your likes and right up to the compressor. It works especially well if you change the alternator to the driver side and have the...

    water wetter

I have used it in 4 different dirt bikes and it worked....no boil over during long slow, steep trail rides any more. There is no fan for cooling water on a dirt bike, only the plastic shroud that guides the air through the radiators. When you ride slow in warm weather you overheat, boil over...
