OOOH, this is weird- not mine -factory 360 Valiant 4D !!!

Yup. If you're reading it right, A38 would be the package. We have a member here, Will, I believe his screen name might be A38Valiant, who has (had) two of these parked in his warehouse.

    Passion 4 Mopars????

Been my experience, when people talk everything but business they're trying to distract from why you called and hope you forget it. Usually the first sign of a crook. Watched a former boss do that. The boat we were building for Iceland was six months behind deadline and the hull hadn't even...

You can't tell some young guys anything!

Yup. And my old man was running Amzoil in his '55 Pontiac when he and Momma got married back in '60.

You can't tell some young guys anything!

Kinda reminds me of a guy over on FMJ's who absolutely will not run synthetics in his older Mopars because he read some half assed articles on the internet years ago. The Internet is the fount of all knowledge. "They didn't have synthetics back then!" Ummm.. Amzoil, Royal Purple, and Mobil...

old fuel lines and brake lines -Replacement Where and How? Tech tips please!

Buy a 25' roll of 3/16" steel tube, a pack of fittings, get a flare tool, and go to work. On your F-body all the tube fittings are gonna be 3/8" except where it goes into the master. Even the steel stuff is easy to bend and easy to flare. Unions suck. Forget the pre-flared, pre-length stuff...

    Its Not A Posi

Had a guy tell me that he had a six pack set up on his Pontiac. I asked him how he modified a Mopar intake to fit his Pontiac engine. I was met with a blank stare.

    A body top speed

I couldn't tell you. The old '72 Duster had 3.23's and I'd shift out of second into third at around 6200-6300 r's. By that time you needed to look down the road a 1/4 mile ahead because what was coming was coming in a hurry. Looking down at the needle was a luxury you didn't have. Funny...

    Bad dealings with Superbeesrt8 Beware!

Umm... The first post you said the owner boxed all the bolts. The second you said you boxed them. The tablet won't let me highlight for bold, but I quote: "I asked the guy who owned the heads to ck. He said they were all in the box with the heads." Then: "I put the head bolts in the box...

How far have you driven just to pick up an engine.

Five hour round trip to pick up a rebuildable 360 back in the mid eighties. Made the same trip a few years later to buy my Sport Satellite.

    1974 power wagon questions

You said you would be happy with a crate 408 for less than $4k. Going diesel will double that. Also, remember, maintainence and repair on a diesel costs more as well as not having the convenience of pulling up to any gas station in every little town. Don't let the diesel snobs fool ya...

    engine glue

Colors denote application. Notice the package? It says high torque applications. Used on engine main girdles, like the old Mopar 2.0/2.4 where the girdle and block mating surface didn't a have a gasket. Mopar also used this as trans pans gaskets. The gray actually hardens under torque. The...

    fuel injected 361?

Mopar Action had a series of articles on this sparked by the owner of one of these cars who was an electronics engineer. Apparently (if I recall correctly) this was adapted from helicopter technology at the time. The electronics engineer spent a few years running trial and error testing on...

I helped Pop build his Duster. I helped him get the sheetmetal in the '74 Barracuda. After owning a restoration shop with him, I guess every project was a father/son project.

    What's your record time

Two hours to R&R a trans in the daily driver '78 Fury. On frozen grass, in a quick built lean to made of scrap lumber and black plastic, no heat at all, -20°F. We worked in shifts. One under getting **** loose while the other two were in the house keeping warm. Work until cold, slide out...

    turning brake drums, surface flywheel-amazed!

I'll turn drums all day. But I have yet to meet a decent brake lathe that can cut within running out for a modern car. Had a service writer want to get into it with me about why I always replaced rotors instead of cutting them. Went and pulled the FSM - I think it was a Ford 500 I was...

    Ready to Start...Again

Or you can do it like the factory did: fenders, hood, decklid mounted, doors off, body dropped over the engine once it was assembled. Doors hinges mounted to the body when you paint. Frankly, I've found this to be the easiest way.

Selling a car but wanting to keep the engine

You can also make it a roller and send the 318 with it. Leaving the 340 in it and telling the buyer you're keeping the engine is gonna go south on you in a hurry.
