    A/C Compressor Swap

Just use the March Performance setup, it works great. I believe it is a R12 version of a 508 pump.

    Calling On The Cooling Gods

I also run an OEM double, 2 speed fan. It's from a 2000-04 Ford Focus. It does take some cutting and fitting to remove some of the plastic on the sides, but it's a hurricane when on high speed, so I think it's worth it.

    A/C Compressor Swap

I did. I have a 68 Barracuda with a 340 and put a Sanden style pump on. I run March Performance pulleys and used their kit. I ended up making a few hoses. I cut the factory hose off from the low side and tig welded a crimp fitting on it and then crimped new rubber and a new end on to go to...

    Anybody ever run too cool?

I'm running a Mr. Gasket high flow 180 deg thermostat. I tested it in a pan of water on the stove with a thermometer before installing it, and it was opening and closing when it should. I was running a little bit warm during the summer and swapped out the regular style stant for the high flow...

    Anybody ever run too cool?

I'm not going by the stock temp gauge, too unreliable even when brand new. I have the FiTech system which uses a temp sensor in the intake runner just like the stock sender. I also use a laser temp gun too. It is really too low, not just a false instrumentation error.

    Anybody ever run too cool?

I swear I cannot understand why my coolant isn't running at least at the thermostat temperature, but it isn't. I have a 180 deg high flow thermostat, and when it's cold out, running down the highway, it will just get to 160. Once I stop, and maybe putt around a parking lot, it will eventually...

    Funny story about a fan

I don't think they were sharpened per se. The back of the fan has most of the black paint gone.

    Funny story about a fan

So for a long time I had this viscous fan on my Barracuda. I thought it was a Chrysler part. Awhile back I switched over to electric fans and put the fan on the shelf. I've been trying to clear out some parts lately and I was going to list the fan for sale on here. I Googled the part number...

    A/C Charge by Myself

    A) A 30 lb can of refrigerant has the tap on top and only lets out gas. In order to worry about getting liquid on the low side and slugging the compressor, you'd have to turn it upside down. B) The pressure coming out of the 30 lb'r is way less than the pressure you will see on the high side...

    A/C Charge by Myself

I always charge from the low side. Pull a vacuum for a good 30-45 minutes to get the moisture out of the system. Switch from the vacuum pump to the 30# can, purge a little refrigerant into the charging lines and then crack open the low side. I have a digital scale so I like to weigh in as...

Help! 5 push button a/c heat control button issues

Of course it can be lubricated, you just have to drill it apart where the plastic welds are, take it apart, you can use a dry graphite lubricant, then drill and tap some very small screw holes and and machine screw it back together. Just don't get the order of the slider plates mixed up.

Finally solved my over heating problem!!!

I had the same problem with the water pump pulley snout. A Ford Focus factory fan, with a little trimming of excess plastic, fit good on my 22" champion radiator. That thing, if it even ever gets up on high, pulls air through the radiator like a tornado.

Finally solved my over heating problem!!!

Saying electric fans will never work, when it looks like you went with the cheapest POS one's you could find, is like parking a Yugo next to a Ferrari and saying you can't figure out why you can't drive very fast. A car is a car right? They both got 4 wheels and a steering wheel so what could...

Anyone know the amperage of blower motor

68 Barracuda w A/C, anyone know the amperage draw on High, Medium, and Low? It takes a 20A fuse, but I wouldn't think that it would take that much. Never mind, I guess I had an amp meter after all. In case anyone else cares, I got 9.5 amps on high, 5.5 amps on medium, and 3.4 amps on low.
