What kind of bearings are on the axles, if you have the green bearing you won't need the thrust block, if you are using stock style bearings you will need it. Hope this helps.

Go with a Dana 60. I don't think the 9 inch is that strong. I have seen 400hp motors tear them up, and not the axles. I think you would have to go with a really modified one to hold up to your 100hp. THe Dana 60 is heavy but I bet will be less expensive in the long run
