My air cleaner is just the top and bottom with air filter sandwiched in between like this one. What should I do about the other valve cover without the pcv valve?
A street car for sure. I may or may not take it to the track. It's got a *242/*[email protected], .560/.570 cam, iron heads, FiTech EFI, if that makes a difference. Valve covers do have baffles.
I have a 414 small block with push on breather filters on each valve cover. Unfortunately over time, the breathers' vapor leave oily deposits on my engine. The breathers are RPC brand from Barnett Performance in Atlanta. Do I need a different brand? I've considered installing a pcv valve but I...
I'm planning to swap to a mechanical pump from a Mallory 140 electrical unit. I hear Carter makes a good pump. Engine is a 360/414 , Holley 800 DP, Eddy Air Gap, ported iron heads, .242/.250@ .050, .558/.573 lift solid cam, TTI headers, 2.5" exhaust, 833 four speed. This is a street car that may...
My brother took a fuel tank to a local radiator shop. They took it apart, cleaned it and coated it inside with some kind of red sealer. Maybe red coat.
Stuck my hand down into the fuel cell. Felt very wet and gushy! The only thing I felt inside all the way to the bottom was the foam bricks. Nothing that would make that "air escaping" sound I heard. Called Summit tech line but got tired of being on hold.
So, my Duster would not start. I figured I might be out of gas. Popped the trunk, couldn't see any gas in the fuel cell. I was sure it had "some" fuel in it, just didn't know how much. Me not knowing, took a screwdriver and pushed down the foam to see how much fuel would be on the screwdriver...
Would the pump pressure depend on fuel line size? I have a 1/2" fuel line on my 414" stroker. Had it at 7 psi. Ran rough at idle so I dropped ithe pressure down to 5.5 psi. Idles a helluva lot smoother now. I have a Mallory 140 electric pump.
Is this an electric fuel pump or mechanical? I have an electrical pump with relay wired to the ignition switch that dropped pressure. I had to wire it directly to the battery with a toggle switch and that cured it.
Thanks for all the help fellas. I had the fuel pump Wired to a key on circuit in the fuse Box.I ended up simply wiring the fuel pump directly to the battery with a high amp toggle switch to command the relay to turn on the pump.Problem solved.
Just starting the engine for the first time. New Mallory 140 pump and filter. I do have a circuit breaker and relay to fire the pump. The pump is Wired to the fuse Box to turn on with the ignition switch. There is a toggle switch inline the power wire that turns on the pump so I can turn the...
Anyone know why my fuel pressure drops to zero when I start my engine? With switch on the pressure is at
6 psi. When it starts it immediately drops to zero and the engine dies. Mallory 140 pump and regulator. I have a separate switch in the circuit in case I service the fuse Box and need the...
I ran mine from my fuel cell in the trunk, along the factory frame rail on the the passenger side, bolted it to frame connector with rubber insulated clips/ self tapping screws. There is a hole in the torsion bar crossmember you can run it through. I think the original fuel line was run through...
The circuit board behind the dash could be bad. If you have a power source such as a jumper wire from the battery you can apply power directly to the lug on the gauge to ensure that it works. Make sure you ground the other lug. The lugs I'm referring to are the ones that bolts the gauge to...
I'm about to run my 1/2" fuel system & I need pointers on what fittings I need to run from the fuel cell to filter, filter to pump, pump to DP carb, carb to regulator, regulator to return line back to fuel cell. I've never done this before so bear with me. I plan to run all AN fittings if I can.
If you go to Hughesengines.com they built a 580-600hp 360 with both intakes & I got the impression the Victor was superior. The Mopar had been modified.
My 414 has similar specs & my builder installed a dyno tuned 800 Holley DP that's been seriously worked. Probably flows around 850cfm. Haven't installed the engine though.
Sometimes the circuit board will malfunction also. My brother's Dart had the same problem so we wired the sending unit directly to the gauge & now it works. You may have to make your own ground strap as the factory piece was crap. I think we replaced those flimsy factory nuts with two real nuts...
