I don't remember Jan Murray...I'll have to google that

    Is this your 340?

Whew! thank goodness you found my motor(s). I'll send UPS for them. I don't have proof that they came outta my 72 /6, I mean 340 duster, but you'll believe me, right? I can identify it by the amount of cylinders. I'll PM you so that no one else can try and steal this secret information from...

    72 Duster: Here-we-go

Yup, same Duster...wishing I would've kept it whole and just got it running. Hell, I've had this thing for about 10 years! Life has a way of putting things on hold and letting other stuff take over.

    72 Duster: Here-we-go

Thats a lot of surface rust. The body work needed aside, I'd put the K member back in and piece everything back together for a while if I were to find a slant six to build.

    72 Duster: Here-we-go

My girl is gowing up too! I'd better get moving on this Mopar! Well, everyone here knows why theres been no progress: I've been busy "growing" these two brats. Since it's been crudely sand blasted and primed w/cheap spray, I'm thinking the best thing to do may be getting it dipped? I found a...

    72 Duster: Here-we-go

Notice the "boy" in the pictures....the duster went backwords while he went forword! Time flies by w/out us having the opportunity to smell the roses.

    finally... it runs... heres pics

Another header question: Did you have to make any modifications to have those headers work? I bought a second set of edelbrock (same as my '01 5.9 Ram) and thought they'd fit. The tranny dipstick was in the way as well as being too close to the frame and starter. I ended up just having my...

    72 Duster: Here-we-go

okay, I need some input. And where else should I look but here?! ( I'd ask all the doctors and scholars I know, but that's a short list) It's obvious the members on this site are WAY better and smarter! Wife & I are torn:....build a 6.1, maybe an Indy w/mod man 6pack or that 440 w6pack? the big...

    Birth of the Blue Missile

I like this! When I get to this point on my '72, I'll either fly you to Phoenix or ship the Duster to you....Okay?

    Purple people eater resto

I have to agree with everyone else here: you have a sweet ride. My only advice would be to try and not overwhelm yourself...Start only what you can accomplish/afford and keep chugging along. I know this because my '72 Duster has been on stilts, in primer for over 9 years now. Keep the pictures...

I agree w/King Viper, you are doing amazing work. I can't wait to see it at a car show or cruise. Keep those pictures coming, they're very motivational.

    The Saga of Purple Haze

You're 100% right about the heat. This is like the back east when Dec, Jan & feb hits and you're not motivated at all to go out and suffer through the fridged temps..Shade, you cannot do anything unless you at least have some shade!

    Arizona Swinger

Yup, I agree. As much as I like seeing a survivor or one restored to that degree, Those shortcuts, mistakes and rushed assembly line "as-built" products look better when done right. Lets face it...when we attend a show, most people are looking for mistakes and imperfections....it's nice when...

    rear quarter patch panels

Since you asked for opinions......I like the "electric blue". Looks alot like B-5 but metalic and brighter. Youve been doing great work so it's understandable that you want it to really POP. Very nice ride and those wheels do make it right. B-5 will make a great statement....Thanks for letting...

Those manifolds look real good. Glad you didn't make the same mistake as me: I had them sand blasted and used BBQ paint. I guess another sand blasting will be needed to fix the uglieness. I read an article which suggested not painting them at all and letting nature takeit's course like it did...

    72 Duster: Here-we-go

So many places to start,I'm not sure where to start? Maybe I'll begin by digging it out. It needs to get blasted again and put onto 4 wheels. Our plans are coil over or cal-trac rear with alterkation (or comparable) K frame. That 440, if worth rebuilding wants to be hooked to a manual trans. The...

    The Saga of Purple Haze

WOW! I'm REALLY sorry I haven't gotten back to you on this...forgot I posted. Maybe too many beers that night? "The Stripping shop" 10732 N. 96th ave. Peoria. 85345 (623) 486-5925. No need to mention me, they didn't know me. Just real good, honest, fast service. Once again, I appologize for not...

    The Saga of Purple Haze

I found a good place near the 101 and Thunderbird. I took some random parts and got them back sooner than expected and the cost was lower than the estimate...go figure?! I have the recipt filed away, I'll find it and get back to you. They do parts to whole cars, my Duster will be going there soon.
