As many of you know, this site has done a lot for a lot of people in many ways. FABO gives every day to the countless numbers of people who seek out technicial advice, fellowship, and even stories. I know that this site also on a regular basis comes to the aid of it's members when they are going through a rough time in their lives. That brings me to the reason for this post. One of our members 64dart170 who has given FABO many good reads and adventures is having a hard time financially and is advertising his beautiful car for sale as a result of this,- link to thread:

After reading through this thread, it is indeed heartbreaking to see that this man and his family could be in jeopardy of losing their home. I want to personally try to offer up some assistance for 63dart170 and ABB. These people would never ask for help but we as a "family" here should find it in our hearts to try to help this man out. I will be the 1st to offer up a $100.00 donation. I do not have his Pay pal address, but if any of you out here know it, please post it A.S.A.P. so we can get the ball rolling. Remember guys and gals, this could very easily be you in this same situation. Please offer up even a dollar if possible. Let's band together and help out a good friend and a valued member of FABO in his time of need. God Bless you all and thanks in advance.
ABodyBetty and I have talked about this and we just don't know how to respond but THANK YOU!
We just don't know what to say. We are the ones usually helping others. We are not acustomed to anyone caring about us!
We are really happy someone out there cares about us, so THANK YOU!!
FABO has become a very big part of our daily lives sense we joined. We have loved every min. of it.
I have really tried to take steps on being self employed but it has not had enough time to be established. I bought a car hauler with money that was to be for house payments through 1st of next year with the intent of selling BOF to pay back house money for the car hauler. It's not working and BOF's price is already less than I paid for the car hauler. (Thank God we bought it, it is my only income of late, too bad it's not that much)
It was down 1st 4 weeks while I did repairs. Starting to take off then slowed to no calls for 12 days. My compitition tells everyone he'll pay $25.00 more than me on junk cars no matter the price I give. He's 81 years old with his own junk yard. You think he'd have enough $ by now but I guess not. The only way I get junk cars to haul is if the people already know him and call me instead! LOL!! He's famous for not showing up!!! I'm fanous for showing up as soon as you call me! LOL!!
We finally got to get one on the 15th day!!
I told ABB I noticed the last holiday we had there was a mad rush on junk cars being removed and we should get some calls for the 4th.
We did, so I got 2 to haul to scrap yard tomorrow!
They are both 96 contours, 1 is in great shape and would love to fix and resale for $ but not really having luck with that right now so we thought I should just go ahead and haul them in even thought the scrap prices went down last week. That money will be promptly used for utility bills.
Had an elderly lady call (my junk ads are in local paper) she wasn't sure she wanted to sell her car (family didn't want her driving)
She told me it was hard to accept not being able to do for oneself anymore and wasn't sure if she wanted to sell but her car hadn't started in a while.
I spent 6 hours on Thursday getting her car running for her and didn't charge her for my services cause I'm too nice and gullable (you'll see)
Anyway I left with her car running to charge the batt and told her to shut off in 30 min and try to start if nothing then new batt. Told her she should sleep on it and decide. She called on Friday and said her family got into a big blowout about her driving so she would sell to me for $50.00 more than I quoted $200. (set junk prices for the day) She wanted $250 cause her family said it's worth more than that due to driveable car. We both agreed on $225, me thinking, wash, wet sand, buff, wax, detail and resale for 2 or 3 hundred more than I paid due to it driving. She changed oil every 3k miles or 3 months wichever was first needing it or not! Well, I worked on it for 2 days and someone wanted to test drive today for $650.00! WOW!!
Went for a drive and tranny started slipping!!
I think the 91 year old gal pulled one over on me! She knew about the bad tranny I bet and didn't even tell me!!! I told ya, GULLABLE!!!
On and on the circle of life goes. I worked 6 hours first day trying to be nice and helpful for her cause she has nobody. The next day spent another 5 hours talking to her. She wanted me to take a lawn job of hers she wanted her fence weeded. (I thought she meant with weedeater or round up) I went back to look and found out she wanted me on hands and knees weeding by hand her flower beds against 2 runs of 75 feet of old 2x4 wire fence!! I told her no way, I'd be back in fall to clean the fence lines when her flowers die out in fall. Oh brother, at least I didn't do her yard work too, I'd really be pissed about the bad tranny then!! LMAO!:-D
Well
We could sell the other Darts, Fern our 75 rolling restore, almost done, just finish hanging parts maybe, $1500-1800???
Lump; $1200-1500???? Was going to be my new daily driver & retire my64 but ya gotta do what ya gotta do!
Also could load up a utility trailer again with more of our stuff to the auction house!:read2: We are now empty nesters thank goodness, and could downsize further.
Anyway, we love FABO and we are very happy FABO loves us too! Anything we do any more seems to leed back to the web site for discussions! Again Thanks to everyone here for being there for us. I'm not sure ABB was responding yet, we both were a little embarassed and really didn't and still don't quite know how to respond...
THANK YOU!!!:love7:
