The kind that just sells parts!
That guy that we all know in the area that has a stash of parts (this guy is NOTHING like our parts selling brothers like RPM and the artist formerly known as C-strips, they kick *** and are the total opposite of the asshat that I am talking about here! ) and asks so mush for them that even with the "buddy discount" you just want to laugh at him when he tells you how much he wants for it because you know that with a little searching you can find it for way cheaper somewhere else "you want HOW much for a (insert name of small part that you would find at a swapmeet in the $1 or less bin)!?!?!.
This is the same guy that may have some cool kickass B or E body in the garage but he NEVER takes it out because it is ssssssooooooooo rare and loaded with options that he can't take the chance of it getting a speck of dust on it....even though it's in primer, rusty, not all there and he couldn't get it out of the garage even if he wanted to because of all the crap piled around it!
This is the guy that an A-body would never be an option to own/drive but seeing as how they are so cheap and there is a demand for parts he will buy every one he can find or strip all the parts off as soon as it shows up at the local yard just to resale. This is the same guy that joins a forum dedicated to a certain type of car, doesn't have any posts other than for sale ads and is such an expert on everything because no one else knows how to do it the right way.

I also hate those assholes that ride their gay little bikes in traffic....ok I hate them more that the parts guy!

*Rant off...for now*

Reminds me of a guy named Gregg Purcell over @ "BBD". When Bill closed down the forsale section he was gone. He always ranted on when someone complained about sleezbay and their prices

Nope, this isn't about any one person but there is one newer member here that flipped my switch to rant mode but I have run into quite a few of "this guy" in my area. He isn't one of the regulars here, lets just put it that way.

Just to answer your question JR, Yes I have and they always want something or complain and know it all

I feel your hurt bro, they hurtin the hobby and look out if they want to buy parts from you,I cant sell parts as cheap as I want to anymore because when I need something it is going to hurt,Did we leave dusterdood out he's a class act and a great person to deal with and oldschoolcuda is one heluva guy also! Thanks Mike and bruce you guy's ROCK! Oh and veotom!!!!Thank You!and Cstripes is now j mac's mopars and is a kewl card!!!!If i forgot anybody(I'm forgetful) or did I forget to remember that???

Like I said, I'm not talking about one of our "regulars" at all, our usual goto parts guys are in it for the love of mopars and are always willing to help out other real car guys!

And you are 100% right Waggin, they are hurting the hobby and they also drive away newcomers at swapmeets looking for parts.

We have two local guys that are fighting each other to corner the mopar parts market here.

wow, Jerry Maguire would be so proud! "you complete me" do we know the poor sap your talking about???

Nahh, he isn't even a blip on the FABO radar. He just got me thinking about some local parts peddlers and thats all it took to set me off lol.

Well he might be a blip on someones radar. I never noticed him until today, looked at his posts and they were about 99% parts peddling with a shitload of "smarter than you" type comments thrown in.

HEY I don't like to be called a blip I prefer the term nuisance hehe
no but seriously I think they're in every town we have one the next town over haven't delt with him much found a better source his old business compedra

I try to sell my parts cheap and I am one of those who rides his gay little bike in traffic. Please don't try to run me over as I am not like the rest of the A-holes in your way(but I do know of the kind you are referring to). If I can find an alternate route to stay away from the ingnorant drivers I do.
Remember, there are good and bad in all types.

Gonna agree with the idea there's one in every locale. And not just with Mopars, either. Got an old man here who's made his fortune with heavy equipment "salvage" and living by the addage of "what's yours is junk what's his is gold." His kid is trying it now with cars. Not too successful at it. Been sitting on an AMX? Javelin? now for about five or six years that's a rolling shell and almost rotted to the ground. Asking $4500.00 for it. But you can guarantee that if it was yours and he wanted it? It would only be worth a couple hundred.
Blow 'em off. Pretty soon their own reputation will hurt 'em and they'll go away. If he comes back to you and asks you about the part you inquired about make it a point to tell him you found one in better shape, for less money somewhere else.
Then we have a buddy of mine into straight up scrap who could care less if he sells parts. Rolled into his yard one day and he's cutting up a rotted out '68 Dart that's been pulled in half getting it on the truck to haul it in. Hanging off the end of the boom on his '41 Power Wagon tow truck he used, was an 8 3/4. After a careful inspection it's a SureGrip with 3.23s. "Hey, Jimmy, how much you want for the rear?" "I don't know...how's $50 sound?" Couldn't get the money out of our wallets fast enough.

I feel for ya JR. It may just be just a lack of BACON. Have Niki cook ya up a couple a pounds and you'll feel better. I'm onto what you talkin about though.
Small Block

Oh, Merry Christmas to you, Niki and Frank.

Dude....you rule. I think I met that guy once....LOL.

He does rule and I had his brother near me.

I danced when he died and didn't care what other thinked of me. Right there in public, I shouted YEA! Aand F%^&( Him! A great day indeed!

(I'm not lie'in!)

Just put a Mopar license plate on the back of the bike and you'll be OK.

I will have to. I have a orange vest that says "One Less Car" but people still dont get it.

I suppose JR has had a bad incident with someone on a bicycle and I was just trying point out that I do ride in traffic and try to stay as far to the right as possible and use hand signals and you will still have someone want to try and clip me. Funny how none stop to talk when I wave them back. I don't go out of my way to mess with them, what gives them the right to mess with me?

I do sport my colors while riding.

Sorry to rant on this in your thread JR, but it was brought up(more then once) and I wanted to address it.
Just remember, the next guy on a bike that you want to run over may be a FABO member.
Peace

There are a lot of those types in the world in all sorts of areas. Usually, they end up in failed friendships, businesses and marriages. They can only see the world through their eyes and cannot even fathom someone else's point of view nor do they care to try. And they hate it when you sell other people stuff for cheap or give things away. Usually they say, "You have any idea how much much that was worth? Why'd you give it away?" I usually reply, "I didn't need it. He did and that is all I wanted for it. I am not looking to get rich."

I can't feel sorry for you guys south of the border at least there's some competition down there. We only got a few parts guys in my area and they want an arm a leg and your left nut for their stuff, you'd think it's all gold plated. Hell, if it'll fit into the trunk of my car it's cheaper to buy the old or new stuff in the states, pay the exchange, and have it shipped to my RV in Idaho then throw it the trunk when coming home. I hope there's no one from Canada Customs reading this.8). Example, I wanted to buy a New Edelbrock RPM Performer intake up here and speed shops wanted $375 Can yet I can have it shipped free to Idaho for $250 Can. I went off on the sales guy at one of the shops and called him and POS's he's works for a bunch of A holes. I don't mind parts guys making a profit but won't sit still for someone trying to screw me in the left ear.:bootysha::thebirdm:

*WHEW*..... thanks for the disclaimer that I am not "that guy" ! I know what kind of guy you are talking about though.... As for me.... ya I sell lots of parts, but I dont think anyone can say they got a bum deal.... (at least I never heard about it) ...and yes... its for the love of Mopar !! Its unfortunate there are " those guys" out in the market trying to muddy up the recycling of the classics biz.

My friend sells used Mopar parts for a living, its how he pays his mortgage and puts food on the table. I used to think he was expensive but after thinking about how he go's to California and destinations west from Pittsburgh for a month at a time to buy rust free parts and cars to sell i conclude he's not that expensive....... 60 hr shop rate to fix a rusty part is expensive! Just my 2 cents
