I wouldn’ call it a resto. It’s just my little fun projekt!

At Christmas I found this little eBay-Dart and finally won the auction

Four months later the Dart made his way from Inglewood to Rotterdam, from where I could get it to Germany without having to pay lots of tax and duty

We found a nice 2bbl 318 in the ugly blacked out engine bay

I just wanted to swap the steering to manual. But there was so little room – finally I pulled the engine

A little cleaning showed that it must have been rebuilt short time before. Unfortunately with cheap pistons

Few weeks later the 318 had a 340 cam, offy singleplain, 500 ede and was ready to go into its engine bay again

But I couldn’t put this nice and clean little thing into this shitty hole

So I sanded it out and rattled some cans

And this is OK for now. It runs fine!

But there is still a lot of fun work to do! Cheers!

svensson, many thanks for sharing the pics of your project

Good job! The engine compartment looks 100% better.
How did the 340 cam swap work out? how much more power?
I'm thinking about doing the same to my 318 and am wondering if it's worth it.
If i were you, i would swap out the single piston master cylinder for a dual one asap for safety's sake.
I love these budget projects!

Amazing what some work and paint will do to turn that engine bay into a showcase. Looks 100% better.

Although my son loved to play in his Dart,
I wanted to change the look and feelings a little bit

So I throw the old and heavy carpet out and cut a very thin and cheap carpet in

I didn't like the worn and white-green old panels with speakerholes

With a little help - this are my new panels and I love the A990 style

This was my starting point...

...and after some cutting I had fine and light brackets for my cheap dragseats

I love this car more and more and have so much fun doing some of these stupid details

Please be patient with me. I am not used to write in english. School-english is more than 25 years old.
But reading in this forum and magazines or books helps a lot. I call it Mopar-english :yawinkle:

I swapped the leaky P/S to a new manual box.

But this coupler didn’t work. It had too much play (Is play the correct word?),
I wouldn’t want to drive any faster than 20 mph.

So I bought the conversion kit from Flaming River

Cut the shafts and putted this in. No play anymore. It feels just right!

Dartnut, next projekt will be an upgrate to the brakesystem.
10 inch drums front and rear and the dual master cylinder.
Yet I didn’t drive more than 5 miles, so I can’t really tell about the 340 cam.
But it sounds nicer than the old 273 mechanical cam.
