Hi all. When I first bought my car the turn signal lever went up and down like it was supposed to. Now, for a reason I am not aware of, it just hangs limp like it's not connected to anything in the column. The turn signals no longer work. Any ideas? Thank you!

Switch could be broken, it's 40 year old plastic. The screw could have come loose that holds the arm to the switch. I've had them both happen. Time to pull your steering wheel and take a look.

YA I have the problim of the screw that holds the leaver to the switch getting loose just hangs there cant switch nothing, and mine is 5 years old:protest:SO I have to pull the center cap and slide the screw driver to tighten it up. WAPIN ASSSSSS. Sounds like your haveing the same issue.

I just picked up a reproduction turn signal switch for my 67. Got it off eBay. Nice firm engagement when you hit the switch. Sounds dumb but it feels nice and new.
