Anyone running these 1969 recall wheels ?

They were recalled because they would loosen up and crack around the hub. They are rare, especially in the 4 inch bolt pattern. Most cars that had them, had them replaced before the customer even took delivery.

Isn't someone making wheels that look simaler? They are so nice.

The ones pictured above are the repop ones. The original ones had trim rings on them like the first picture, they were made in big and small bolt pattern, made by Kelsey Hays.

The second picture is a Kelsey Hays one too but it was only on cars built in Mexico and used on other cars. It is different than the original ones and were not recalled. People try to pass these off as real "recall" wheels but they are different, these were made after 1970.

Most of the recalled rims were shipped to Mexico and sold as aftermarket rims. Daily driver cars have been seen driving on these rare rims, even Taxi cabs!

Lug nuts would not stay tight on them was one story I was told.

Mexican Taxi with a real recall rim on it. The Ford Mav has the non-recalled version on the rear, note the lug holes are different.

Another one to watch out for is this one, it is a post recall rim sold as an aftermarket rim from Kelsey Hays, it has the outer rim chrome plated.
