I am restoring a 1969 swinger. I have seen the cars with the front of the fenders behind the headlight and grill painted body color or black. Which is correct? The rear marker reflector housing I have seen some painted body color others painted swinger stripe color. Which is correct?

I'm thinking whoever is doing that job at that particular plant does it the way they felt was right. I have read that ANYTHING behind the grill that can be seen when car is fully assembled, should be painted black, unless it was a black or a very dark colored car. (Radiator support, hood latch & tie bar etc.) Some guys painted more than needed, but that black-out was a Chrysler "MUST" as far as I understand. I can't recall EVER seeing the rear side marker light housings body color with the tail stripe though. But anything was possible back then.
