1972 Grill/Turn signal confusion

We have a 70' Dart that had a 72' grill installed since we bought it. A recent accident cause us to replace the grill and some other items. My son likes the look of the 72 grill so we wanted to keep that.

My son found this grill and purchased it. My confusion is that the turn signal area is open at the bottom. It's not as if it is broken in that area, it's looks clean and as if it came that way. Is this a 72 Dart grill?

I'll also post pics of the original grill from when we purchased it.

You got it. The lens completes the bezel.

Yep, that is correct. You can buy the lens new now from classic industries. They fit and look great. I think they sell the grill and headlight bezels too. They are pretty easy to find good used ones though. The park light lens are tough to find good used ones.
