I've been on the look out for a parts car with disc brake set up from a 1973 or newer A-body. I curious could you get front drum brakes on a 1973 or newer A-body and if so are the upper control arms with the larger ball joint like the disc brake upper arms. Jayson

Don't believe your wrong. The uppers had the larger ball joint with the disk brake set-up. I had a 73 with drums, had to switch out the upper to use the disc set up.

All '73-up upper control arms are the same, so don't overlook the drum brake ones. You can keep the stock lower control arms but need to swap ball joints.

OK. I'll chip in on this one. From my experience, 73 on up A-bodies with disc brakes or 10" drum brakes had the big ball joint upper arms. 9" drum cars still had the small ball joint arms. I am just going from what I have seen. Perhaps one of the numbers junkies can throw out a chart or something.....

All 73-76 A-body Upper control arms have the bigger ball joints, doesn't matter if the car had drums or disc.
