I have a 1970 Duster with just the dash harness. I found a 1973 complete car harness to use. Is there any gotcha or issues on doing this?

My plan was to go with a factory electronic ignition and voltage regulator?

Any other thoughts - points or insights.

Looks like the instrument cluster connection may be different. A cursory look at the 2 schematics from mymopar.com shows them to be fairly similar, and the voltage regulation scheme is the same. And the '73 has the electronic ignition connections aready to go. So you havew agood base to work from.

But if 'twer me, I would download both schematics and do a more extensive comparison side-by-side; there are probably a few tweaks in the later year. In the later years there were some odd swaps of pins at the firewall connecitons and you don't want one of those to be a 'gotcha'.

Start with the harness in place, ALL switches and electrical devices disconnected, and hook up the battery through a light bulb to see if current flows indicating a short somehwere. Then I would suggest hooking up one thing at a time and checking it out.
