Are there any parts that are hard to come by like pistons, crank bearings and such? I would have a hard time not riding it after it was together!
I know the full history of the bike. It bought from a guy in SAN Bernardino who brought it over himself from Europe and owned it for 16 years. It was ridden regularly at GlenHelen. Mechanically the bike is mint, I purchased new plastics from Gary. I just need to frame it to clean it up. It just sits in my garage as a keep sake. Andrew@Mrpatel Did you restore the Spider or find it that way ?
In case you don't know the history of Maico Be carefull of ripping on that '83 !
Nice resto thread.Ironically the 83 is probably the best bike once the hubs and gears are upgraded . The gear drive primary , corrected linkage and addition of reed valve really made the 83 a killer bike .
