Sweet, they look clean. Lap job , seals and ready to go on my 273

Can check out these 318 LA Head Gaskets too by Mr.Gasket 112G sold individual for 26.03 free ship US
Ebay item # 163 678 824 932

They have the good specs:
4.140 bore diameter
(unlike the universal 318/360s 4.40 bore)
And are .028 in. Compressed thickness.

Will grab you some part numbers on the small port intake manifold gaskets by Felpro for the 318s that work well with the 302 heads. Want to final port match these just in case something is sticking out that will cause turbulence.

We don't use the cork, just a good bead of black RTV gasket maker.

Going to need to take a die grinder and port match the 302 intake ports to the intake gasket. Does not take much just a bevel at the leading edge of the head port to match the gasket so it flows good.

Can do it when you have the valves out.

Port matched 302 intake ports if you look closely
Stock mopar hydraulic valve train works well here too.

Many thanks, C

intake & head gaskets ordered ! parts store should have seals ! Wondering if I need double spring / valve springs ? only mild cam ! Not going to be racing this 273 but I want her to run well ! I have a LB340 intake I think correct . and a pair of 340 HP exhaust mani's. I'm thinking of a 500 cfm carb. still working it all out ! Much Mahalo for the help, C

Got a new cam to break in on that one, then want single springs. Can leave them single unless you are going to be reving over 4500 rpm.

The LD340s are nice manifolds but are for the Large Port 340 360s, that is going to be a square edge going into the head. The large ports are going to slow the port speed down too. You want the smaller faster port speed with the 273/318.

Man if you have available LD4B aluminum Edelbrock made for Mopar Dual Plane intake for the 318s small ports that would be the perfect intake manifold.

By chance did your 273 have a stock cast 4bbl? Oh shoot skip that 273 has different angle bolt holes than the 318s, minght or might not line up. If it lines up you can use that one, may be a single plane though . . don't know.

302 heads fit the 70s 318 small port intakes well, with just a little port matching at the gasket at the head port.

May sound crazy but the 318 2 bbl dual planes (good for low end torque) have the small port runners and match up to the 302 head ports great. They make a 20.00 Mr. Gasket 4 bbl. adapter to go from the 2 to 4 bbl that actually works very well to get a 4 bbl on them if you want a good runner. Fun to have the secondaries to play with. 1406 600 cfm Edelbrocks are working well with our stock 318s and this setup.

It seems the best thing to get the 318s to perform is the smooth port flow and the fast port speed and port match the exhaust manifolds too if they need it. In and out of the engine and bigger exhaust system all the way to the back makes them talk.

There've been more than a couple of issues with those MR Gasket head gaskets failing on this forum. They compress down around .020". The blue FelPros compress down around .035. Not enough difference to split hairs with compression on. That's why I recommended FelPro blues on Facebook to you. One and done and never have trouble again.

What are the Bore Diameters on the Felpros ?

Big Block Mopar says he uses the Mr. Gasket 1121G without issue, very happy with them. Post 13 here
I like their 4.140 diameters best of all, the thickness is not that big of deal, but the diameter is.
We were luck engough to find Some New Old Stock 318 head gaskets with these smaller number specs on Brian's 318, no issue over 2 years now.

Want the best stuff with the good specs. What ya Got ??

Anyway u can get me a part number ?
