318 parts I.D. help

Hello all

I started tear down in my 318 to install my new intake and carb. But I have encountered a couple things that I have no idea what they are and if they are a problem.

First is this sensor that had no wire connected to it. It's on the back side of the engine next to the distributor hole

Other is a hole that was plugged, on the upper side of the head with the cresent moon paper above it.

I believe the sensor is an oil pressure sensor

thats the oil pressure sensor on the back of the block. the half moon thing in the heads is the heat crossover. not needed. go ahead and put your intake on. those will show, but it dont matter. they dont leak.
